About the role

Job Summary

The Sale and Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical advice to customers, including commissioning, installing, and testing of products and equipment. This role ensures high-quality service delivery and supports customer satisfaction through technical expertise and problem resolution.

Purpose of the job

Develop and bring to the next level the Mine Water and Mining business in the countries handled from SPUZM - Zambia by specifically increase SULZER presence at customer sites, selling dedicated new equipment, spare parts and offering the related service and assistance

 

Main selling tasks and responsibilities

• Capture customer needs and generate request for quotation from all assigned territories and customers he time in technical, commercial and service visits at customer sites
• Ensure in our local Service Center that all repairs orders are executed properly
• Read, learn and fully understand the basic SULZER Sales processes and rules (customer’s specifications, product portfolio, TOA, 10 GR, COSP, PA, STARS, Salesforce, pricing, etc.)
• Keep a high level of collaboration and communication with the local and regional colleagues from which he/she will receive the corresponding administrative support (tendering, quotations follow up, order handling, shipping, invoicing and cash collection)
• Report and communicate customers information. Enter and maintain database records (Salesforce) of customer profiles and prepares and maintains status reports
• Assist Management on reporting (budget, rolling forecast, MBR and the like) when requested

 

Main selling tasks and responsibilities

• Support the Sales Office and their personnel in pump service related issues, e.g. installation supervision, start-up and commissioning, trouble shooting and customer training.

• Coordinate with the customer the repair works at site and/or in the Service Center and generate service business

• Support Mine Water customers with the start-up of XJ900 pumps

• Educate oneself on new products and features at or if possible before their launch to be able to support the Sales Office and customers

• The support will be given, especially, in Zambia and the countries under Chingola office responsibility

 

General tasks and responsibilities

• Bring all ideas and suggestions to increase Sales effectiveness
• Participate in and actively support company initiatives
• Apply LEAN directives and communicate with the Team
• Familiar with the environmental aspects and impacts of the activities and processes involved in the role and the procedures, practices and measures to manage the impact
• Familiar with the risks and hazards within the activities and processes of the role and procedures, practices and measures in place to mitigate the risks

Qualifications and Experience

Educational background

•    Diploma in engineering or
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineer or
• Technician
•  Intermediate user of Microsoft products: Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
• Desirable experience with an ERP system

 

Professional experience incl. markets, international experience etc.

• Professional experience more than 5 years 
•  Strong negotiation skills
• Experience in sales support functions
• Change / replacement of spare parts
• Perform pump service
