Job Description:
This role is responsible for directing and coordinating the design, fabrication, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical equipment, machinery, automation systems, and conveying systems. This role supports the development and optimization of automated operations by evaluating equipment performance, recommending process improvements, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
Engineering & Technical Support
Design, develop, implement, and support mechanical, electrical, and automation systems within operational and industrial environments.
Coordinate the fabrication, installation, startup, operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, controls, motors, conveyors, and automated systems.
Support electrical system design and maintenance activities, including power distribution, wiring, lighting systems, motors, drives, and control systems.
Analyze equipment performance and recommend modifications to improve reliability, productivity, efficiency, and safety.
Assist in the planning and execution of engineering projects, equipment upgrades, and automation initiatives.
Develop technical specifications, drawings, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Automation & Process Improvement
Evaluate automation technologies, conveying systems, operational methods, and workflow procedures to identify opportunities for optimization.
Recommend innovative solutions that improve throughput, reduce downtime, and enhance overall operational performance.
Support implementation of automation strategies, controls integration, and process improvement initiatives.
Analyze process data and equipment trends to identify root causes of operational issues and recommend corrective actions.
Participate in continuous improvement programs focused on operational excellence and cost reduction.
Maintenance & Reliability
Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for automation and electrical systems.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and automation-related issues and coordinate timely resolution.
Assist maintenance and operations teams in diagnosing equipment failures and implementing long-term reliability improvements.
Monitor equipment performance metrics and recommend maintenance strategies to maximize asset utilization.
Safety & Compliance
Evaluate equipment, systems, and operational procedures for compliance with safety regulations, engineering standards, and quality requirements.
Support risk assessments, hazard analyses, and corrective action initiatives.
Ensure engineering solutions align with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Promote a culture of safety through adherence to established safety procedures and best practices.
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, vendors, and project stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
Provide technical guidance and share engineering knowledge with team members and business partners.
Participate in project reviews, design evaluations, and operational assessments.
Prepare reports, analyses, and recommendations for management and operational leadership.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Entry-level to early career professional engineering experience.
Experience supporting industrial equipment, automation systems, conveying systems, controls, or electrical infrastructure is preferred.
Internship, co-op, or project experience related to automation, controls, manufacturing, logistics, or industrial engineering is beneficial.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work Tuesday-Friday Noon-8pm, Saturday 3-11pm.
- Must reside within the geographic area of the job or willing to relocate
