Summary:
As a Database Administrator, a typical day involves designing, implementing, and maintaining databases to ensure their optimal performance and reliability. The role includes installing database management systems and developing procedures that support daily maintenance activities and effective problem resolution. This position requires continuous monitoring and fine-tuning of database environments to meet organizational needs, while also ensuring data integrity and availability across various platforms. Collaboration with other teams to support database-related requirements and troubleshooting is an integral part of the daily workflow.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Oversee the implementation of best practices for database security and backup strategies.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to align database operations with business objectives.
- Mentor junior team members to support their professional growth and skill development.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM AS/400 RPG III.
- Strong knowledge of database architecture, design, and implementation.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Ability to develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
- Familiarity with database security principles and access control mechanisms.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues efficiently.

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in IBM AS/400 RPG III.
- This position is based at our Chennai office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
