Description
Citi is looking for a Senior Project Lead to drive the end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives within the Wealth Lending business — a strategically important area that helps clients meet their lending needs across Citi's global network. In this senior individual contributor role, you will operate at both a strategic and executional level, owning programme governance, stakeholder alignment, and disciplined delivery across a matrixed organization. This is an opportunity to shape how Wealth Lending executes its priorities, working alongside senior leaders across Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations to deliver outcomes that matter.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional projects within Wealth Lending, owning scope definition, planning, milestone tracking, dependencies, and deliverables aligned to business and enterprise strategy.
- Coordinate across Wealth Lending, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations to maintain alignment, resolve interdependencies, and keep project objectives on track.
- Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, including risk and issue tracking, decision logs, and steering committee materials, ensuring transparency with senior stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and actively manage project risks and issues, developing and executing mitigation strategies and escalating where appropriate with clear recommendations.
- Partner with project sponsors and business owners to validate scope, align business cases and cost-benefit analyses to strategic objectives, and ensure delivery meets regulatory and control requirements.
- Communicate project status, risks, and key decisions clearly and consistently to stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.
- Manage, coach, and develop project team members to strengthen delivery capability, while maintaining accountability for budgeting, planning, and financial oversight across the programme.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 8–10+ years of experience in project or programme management, business transformation, or a related discipline, with a demonstrated track record of delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives in financial services or similarly regulated environments.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, balancing competing priorities while maintaining delivery discipline, quality, and stakeholder alignment.
- Skilled at engaging and influencing senior stakeholders across business, technology, and risk functions, with clear and structured communication at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience assessing complex issues, identifying root causes, and recommending practical, well-reasoned solutions.
- High degree of judgment, discretion, and professionalism, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and operate effectively in a matrixed, global organization.
- Commitment to governance, risk awareness, and ethical conduct, with the ability to assess business decisions with consideration for regulatory expectations and reputational impact.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications:
- PMP, CAPM, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification.
- Master's degree or advanced managerial qualification.
- AI and digital fluency, with the ability to connect emerging technologies — including generative AI — to business strategy and delivery outcomes.
- Familiarity with governance, risk, and regulatory considerations for AI adoption within a controlled financial services environment.
