Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities. Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.
- Technical Skills: Competent in psychomotor skills and technical procedures within scope of practice. Includes care of patient drains, tubes, special equipment, ADL's, mobility, Hospital Information System proficiency, I & O, response in emergency.
- Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures.
- Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system.
- Organizational Skills: Uses appropriate organization, priority setting and problem solving skills.
- Self Development: Is accountable for self-directed learning and participation in continuing education to meet own professional development.
- Patient Safety: Applies safety precautions and principles to patient care, includes all applicable National Patient Safety Goals.
Job Requirements
Required
- One (1) year CNA/nurse assistant/caregiver experience.
- Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
