Description
The successful candidate MUST possess prior experience in managing a worker’s compensation caseload, personal injury experience is a strong plus. You will support attorneys by preparing legal documents and correspondence, managing calendars, scheduling appointments/meetings, communicating with clients, maintaining files, answering phone calls, along with other assigned administrative duties.
In this vital role you will manage all aspects of worker's compensation cases from beginning to end, gather, analyze, and research information, educate the client on case progression and set appropriate expectations. A proactive approach and strong organizational skills are a must to manage cases efficiently. This position is full-time and on site in Miami, Florida.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of Worker's Compensation cases from beginning to end.
- Client and Case Management: Conducting interviews, gathering information about the workplace injury, and organizing case files.
- Medical Record Management: Requesting, reviewing, and analyzing medical records, bills, and other documentation related to the injury.
- Preparation of Legal Documents: Drafting, reviewing, and filing pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Communication and Coordination: Interacting with clients, insurance adjusters, attorneys, court personnel, medical providers, and other parties involved in the case.
- Discovery Assistance: Assisting with the discovery process, including preparing and responding to discovery requests, and organizing exhibits.
- Trial Preparation: Assisting attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, and coordinating logistics.
- Calendar Management: Maintaining calendars for court dates, deadlines, other important events, and ensuring timely filing of documents.
- Legal Research: Assisting with legal research related to workers' compensation laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience specifically in workers’ compensation litigation; experience in personal injury and premises liability is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in legal case management software such as NEOs and document management systems like Image Right.
- Strong Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills are crucial for interacting with various parties.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and manage case files, documents, and information efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy and attention to detail are essential when handling medical records, legal documents, and other sensitive information.
- Legal Knowledge: Understanding of workers' compensation laws, procedures, and regulations.
- Ability to Work Independently (and part of a team): Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Project management capabilities to support complex litigation processes efficiently.
- Clerical experience combined with administrative expertise in a law office setting.
