The Opportunity

Soben, part of Accenture, is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join our growing team in Luxembourg.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement & Commercial or Procurement & Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management, administration, and governance of contracts across major construction, infrastructure, data centre, pharmaceutical, energy, and capital project programmes.

The role will play a critical part in ensuring successful contract delivery, effective commercial risk management, and compliance with internal policies, procedures, and governance frameworks. You will work closely with project teams, clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to maximise value, mitigate risk, and support successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Management & Administration

  • Manage the full contract lifecycle from procurement and award through to contract administration, performance management, and close-out.
  • Ensure all contracts are administered in accordance with company policies, governance requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Develop and maintain robust contract management processes and controls.
  • Monitor contract compliance, obligations, deliverables, and performance metrics.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, contractors, consultants, and key project stakeholders.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for contractual and commercial matters across allocated projects.
  • Support collaborative working relationships between project teams and supply chain partners.
  • Facilitate effective communication throughout the contract lifecycle.

Procurement & Commercial Support

  • Work closely with procurement teams to support sourcing strategies and supplier selection processes.
  • Support tendering activities, commercial evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure procurement decisions align with best-value principles and project objectives.
  • Assist in the development of procurement and commercial strategies for major programmes.

Commercial Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and manage commercial, legal, and contractual risks.
  • Support project teams in managing change control, compensation events, variations, and claims.
  • Develop mitigation strategies to minimise commercial exposure and maximise value.
  • Ensure contractual protections are appropriately implemented and maintained.

Post-Contract Commercial Management

  • Manage all post-contract commercial activities, including contract amendments, variations, claims, and dispute avoidance.
  • Negotiate and agree compensation events and contractual changes where required.
  • Support final account negotiations and contract close-out processes.
  • Ensure commercial management activities align with company procedures and best practice.

Cost & Performance Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve commercial performance and reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Support value engineering initiatives and supply chain optimisation activities.
  • Contribute to process improvement and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Support the development of commercial intelligence, reporting, and performance monitoring.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Comply with all company health, safety, environmental, and compliance requirements.
  • Promote safe and responsible working practices throughout project delivery.
  • Support governance reviews, audits, and compliance assessments where required.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years' experience in Contract Management, Commercial Management, Procurement, or Quantity Surveying within major construction, infrastructure, energy, industrial, or capital project environments.
  • Proven experience managing the full contract lifecycle from procurement and negotiation through to administration and close-out.
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard forms of contract including FIDIC, NEC3, NEC4, and other international contract frameworks.
  • Demonstrable experience managing contractual risk, compensation events, variations, claims, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, commercial governance, and contract management best practice.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and ability to drive value throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred

  • Experience delivering projects across Luxembourg and the wider European market.
  • Experience within consultancy, contractor, developer, or client-side organisations.
  • Knowledge of Luxembourg procurement and contracting practices.
  • Experience within data centres, infrastructure, energy, pharmaceutical, industrial, or mission-critical project sectors.
  • Familiarity with digital contract management systems and data-driven commercial reporting tools.
  • Professional accreditation such as MRICS, MCIPS, MCInstCES, or equivalent.
  • Fluency in French and/or German in addition to English would be advantageous.
