We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our Gallatin, TN team and serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and management.
This is an opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being hands-on, visible, and involved in the day-to-day employee experience. You will work closely with employees and plant leadership.
About the Role
The HR Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day HR activities at our Tennessee plant. This position provides support and guidance to employees and management in areas including recruiting, employee relations, benefits, time and attendance, performance management, training, personnel records, and HR compliance.
You will report directly to the Plant Manager while working with the Senior Corporate P&C Manager on HR programs, compliance, and company-wide initiatives.

What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary HR resource for the plant and provide day-to-day support to employees and management.
- Support recruiting, interviewing, selection, onboarding, and staffing activities.
- Help develop and maintain positive employee relations and a safe, productive work environment.
- Administer company policies and assist employees and managers with questions regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements.
- Administer employee benefit programs and help employees understand the benefits available to them.
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records and HR documentation.
- Manage and maintain time and attendance information, reports, and weekly timecards.
- Support performance management, employee development, training, and succession planning.
- Conduct onboarding and assist with employee training and development.
- Assist with workers' compensation, employee injury, and property damage claims.
- Prepare HR reports and documentation as needed.
- Assist employees with questions regarding benefits, policies, leave, payroll-related information, and other HR matters.
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive employee information.
- Partner with management to address employee concerns, complaints, and workplace issues.
- Support recruiting and retention efforts designed to attract and retain strong employees.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, Excel, and HR software to maintain records and complete HR processes.
- Work with Corporate P&C on compliance matters, HR initiatives, and company programs.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who can build relationships while also getting the work done.The ideal candidate will have:
- Associate degree and/or 2–5 years of HR administration or generalist experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
- HR certification is preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle employee concerns and difficult conversations professionally.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel; experience with HRIS/payroll systems preferred.
