POSITION SUMMARY

The individual will work as an Account Manager within Hong Kong & Macau Institutional Team to engage investment decision makers and deepen client relationships.

The role will be working closely with senior account managers, portfolio managers, product strategists, and business leadership, to deliver exceptional client service, including, but not limited to, coordinating client engagement activities, supporting strategic account planning, conducting portfolio review, and also contributing to business development opportunities. focused on client servicing and business development across central banks, pension funds, insurers, and other institutional investors. This position is based in Hong Kong and reports to PIMCO’s Head of Hong Kong and Macau Institutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Lead Account Manager to execute a client service and business development strategy amongst various institutional investors in Hong Kong & Macau.

  • Take ownership of the client relationships from front to back, ensure that all operational, compliance and legal requirements are met and business is conducted in line with practice.

  • Participate in formal portfolio client reviews; the Account Manager needs to develop sufficient fixed income technical and macro expertise to act as the surrogate portfolio manager and represent the firm credibly

  • Discuss investment solutions using full range of PIMCO’s investment strategies and services to the assigned client base, along with the Lead Account Manager and other senior investment professionals where appropriate

  • Build and maintain a detailed knowledge of key business and strategic issues facing institutional investors in Hong Kong & Macau.

  • Develop relationships across the strata of influential asset allocators and investment teams in key institutions which have been identified as being interested in developing partnerships of this nature.

  • Acquisition and ongoing service of new and existing clients and mandates.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

  • Proven record in client service, cross-sell and relationship management working with institutional investors.  

  • Stature, gravitas and seniority to operate at the highest level – internally and externally. 

  • Outstanding client service, product solution, relationship management and negotiation skills.  Capable of driving own agenda.

  • Collegiate team player, experienced and comfortable working in an international operating environment.
     
  • An understanding of the dynamics of investment management industry focused around meeting client demands.  Ideally this should be at a relatively sophisticated level of knowledge.

  • A significant understanding of economics, capital markets and investment concepts gained from 6-8 years’ experience within financial services. Experience in alternatives, private credit and real estate is also preferred.
