Integrations Engineer

Who: HealtheConnections, a respected national leader in providing health information exchange (HIE) services for NYS-based organizations.

What: We’re looking for an Integrations Engineer to join HealtheConnections and serve as a technical resource for healthcare interoperability and integration solutions. This role will work with our integration environment to implement, support, troubleshoot, and investigate complex issues involving healthcare data exchange, interfaces, applications, and network connectivity.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, build, implement, and maintain healthcare integrations and interfaces using technologies such as Mirth Connect and HL7.
• Document technical issues, perform technical investigations, and describe needed changes or expected behavior of solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues, including issues involving message flow, message structure, connectivity, interfaces, APIs, internet protocols and data exchange.
• Conduct network investigations within the integration environment and identify root causes to services disruptions.
• Work with internal teams, customers, vendors, and technical partners to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
• Write, modify, and troubleshoot JavaScript as needed to support integration solutions.
• Maintain ownership of and document standard operating procedures and integration configurations.
• Identify opportunities to improve integration processes, monitoring, troubleshooting, and overall system reliability.
• Support additional technical projects and initiatives related to integrations, networking, and cloud infrastructure.

Competencies & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
• Experience working with healthcare integrations, interoperability, interface engines, or a related technical environment.
• Networking & Troubleshooting: experience troubleshooting VPN and network connectivity issues, with knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTPS, TLS, certificates, and tools such as Wireshark.
• Experience with JavaScript or another programming language used to support integration solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare Integrations: Experience with Mirth Connect/Bridge Link (or a similar integration/interface engine)
• HL7 healthcare data exchange standards, HL7v2, FHIR, CCD, C-CDA
• Systems & Cloud: Experience with Unix/Linux environments; AWS CloudTrail, Insights, and CloudWatch experience strongly preferred.
• APIs & Data: Experience with APIs and tools such as Postman or SoapUI; database and SQL experience is a plus.

$75,000-$95,000 is the lowest to highest salary that we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and seniority.
