Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer for our Advanced Packaging Technology µ-Line based in Apopka, Florida

 

Northrop Grumman’s semiconductor foundry, packaging, integration, and test lines have unique capabilities of supporting a range of production microelectronics and providing leading-edge technology development.

 

The Apopka Florida wafer bumping µ-Line supports flip chip, 2.5D, and 3D packaging for internal and external production customers as well as emerging technology programs.  The line provides a range of bump compositions and processes that include photo, sputter, electro-plating, AOI, and solder-sphere transfer to support flip chip, 2.5D, and 3D packaging using 100 mm to 300mm wafers.  The devices supported in Apopka will also be subjected to singulation and die/wafer probe testing.

 

The Manufacturing Engineer is an integral part of the day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside engineering, production and many other organizations here in Apopka, FL.  This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment.  We are looking for applicants that enjoy working and learning from their peers and are passionate about making a positive difference.
 

What you will get to do:

  • Will work with diverse groups within Northrop, including Global Supply Chain, IE’s, Planning, Process Engineers, and shipping and receiving.
  • Create and maintain master routers in MES system with guidance from Engineering and production.
  • Update work order routers based on requests submitted by engineering and production management.
  • Use GDS files and program/foundry information to create an Apopka die drawing specific to each program for engineers, technicians, and operators to use to run product.
  • Member of Configuration Management team to review and approve program drawings
  • Administrator for MES system for all production routers, reworks, special instructions and OCAP’s
  • Routine user of SAP and MPLM systems
  • Routinely work with IE and ME to improve production workflows in MES which result in cycle time improvements and cost reduction
  • Support multiple wafers bumping processes and wafer sizes.
  • Support as required workflow and drawings interface activities between wafer bumping lines, site management, and internal programs.
  • Incorporates engineering changes into the work process and MES system.
  • Coordinates with production on day-to-day activities. Assists in the resolution of production workflow issues.
  • Utilizes Data Analytics to analyze existing operational processes and develops metrics and reporting to optimize and improve program & operational performance.
  • Accountable for process control, quality, safety, delivery, and rework metrics for responsible production lines
  • Train engineering and production on MES system and functions
  • High daily use of computer-based systems to perform responsibilities

Basic Qualifications for the Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or production manufacturing operation; OR a master’s degree with 0 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or production manufacturing operation. (An additional 4 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or production manufacturing operation may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
  • Experience with ERP systems and SAP software
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment and hands-on experience using a production manufacturing execution system (MES)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in report programing using (SQL, MS Query, or other software languages)
  • Experience using Excel, including macros, data mining, data analytics and pivot tables
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Automate flows and Microsoft Sharepoint
  • Experience with data visualization software applications and dashboard creation/ maintenance (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience with Process control methods (SPC/control charts).
  • Ability for infrequent travel (<10%).
  • Experience with Visio software and AutoCAD
  • Expertise with MS Project and Power Point

Must be available onsite to support manufacturing and its schedule of operations

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
