Join DayOne – Shaping the Future of Data Infrastructure
DayOne is a global leader in the development and operation of high-performance data centers. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, we’ve built a robust presence across Asia and Europe — and we’re just getting started.
As we expand into new international markets, we’re looking for talented, driven individuals to join us on this exciting journey. This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to be a key contributor to our dynamic team and help shape the future of global data infrastructure.
If you're passionate about innovation, technology, and growth, we invite you to be part of DayOne’s next chapter.
Role and Responsibilities
- Regional Mechanical Operations Leadership: Lead and coordinate mechanical operations support across South East Asia data center sites, ensuring consistent operating standards, maintenance practices, risk controls, and performance expectations.
- Liquid Cooling Operations: Own regional operational readiness for liquid cooling systems, including CDUs, secondary cooling loops, manifolds, heat exchangers, leak detection, water quality management, commissioning support, and maintenance procedures.
- Technical Support to Site Operations: Provide second-level technical support to local DCO and facilities teams for complex mechanical issues, including chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, valves, controls, fire protection interfaces, and high-density cooling environments.
- Reliability and Availability: Drive mechanical system reliability through preventive and predictive maintenance programs, failure trend analysis, root cause investigation, corrective action tracking, and lessons learned implementation.
- Standards and Governance: Develop and maintain regional mechanical operating standards, Basic of Design review & regional maintenance playbooks
- Commissioning and Handover: Support new site commissioning, integrated systems testing, operational readiness reviews, and handover from project delivery teams to operations, with particular attention to cooling system resilience and maintainability.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor mechanical system performance, identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, PUE, water usage, cooling capacity, redundancy, and lifecycle cost while maintaining uptime and customer commitments.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Coordinate with OEMs, service providers, consultants, and contractors to ensure maintenance quality, technical compliance, timely issue resolution, and safe execution of works in live data center environments.
- Risk, Compliance, and Safety: Ensure mechanical activities comply with applicable local regulations, health and safety requirements, environmental obligations, permit-to-work processes, and DayOne operational risk controls.
- Regional Capability Building: Coach site teams, share best practices, conduct technical training, and build regional competency in chilled water, HVAC, and liquid cooling operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, facilities operations, or critical infrastructure, preferably within data centers, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, industrial, or other mission-critical environments.
- demonstrated experience leading regional programs, managing multiple sites, or providing technical governance across complex operational environments is preferred.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of chilled water plants, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, BMS controls, fire protection interfaces, and mechanical redundancy strategies.
- Practical experience with data center liquid cooling systems, including CDUs, direct-to-chip cooling, rear-door heat exchangers, secondary water loops, leak detection, water treatment, and operational risk management.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical failures, lead root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
- Experience supporting commissioning, integrated systems testing, operational readiness, maintenance strategy development, and live-site change management.
- Strong understanding of data center uptime requirements, operational risk, energy efficiency, PUE improvement, EHS standards, and regional regulatory requirements across South East Asia.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with site operations teams, project teams, customers, vendors, consultants, and senior management.
- Willingness to travel across South East Asia to support site operations, incident response, commissioning activities, audits, and technical reviews.
