The Role
The Manufacturing Excellence Lead (ManEx) at our Minto ice cream factory is responsible for managing and driving the implementation of the ICMS (Ice Cream Manufacturing System) programme, ManEx Projects and digital transformation in the factory – formerly known as WCM, TPM or Lean Implementations.
The position reports to the Site Director and is a member of the plant leadership team.
The role will manage all ICMS activities for loss eradication within manufacturing inbound and out bound supply chain context. The role is also responsible for developing an ICMS Master-plan from the site manufacturing strategy, providing ICMS skill development and coaching for all operators, engineers, supervisors, and managers in the sourcing unit. The role will also drive and implement all ManEx Projects. Manufacturing Excellence Lead has a direct impact on improvement of manufacturing performance (e.g. OEE, Waste, Man Ex Savings).
This 12-month fixed-term opportunity STARTING NOVEMBER 2026 has been created to support business continuity while an existing team member undertakes a strategic project assignment.
What you'll be responsible for
Implementation, management, and successful operation of a World Class Manufacturing process in the plant.
Site ICMS master plan and actions are aligned with the category manufacturing strategy.
Development of the ICMS preparation phase plan, tracks progress against the plan and leads issue resolution (gap analysis and adjustments to plan).
Monthly data analytics driving key insights to provide Focused Improvement
Developing key site KPIs and ensuring monthly adherence to them
This role will be a key culture change agent to our factory and:
Ensure ICMS work is impacting both results and the culture change towards the vision as determined by the plant zero loss journey, vision. including:
Set up mini celebrations of successes (passing steps, success case studies, competition: Best OPL (One point lesson), best improvement each month, lines exceeding a true efficiency level)
Develop a thorough understanding of the ICMS efficiency basics and their integration to deliver increased efficiency results early in the ICMS implementation. Implementation of digital tools by working closely with global/cluster teams.
Develop Pillar leaders and manage their development.
Serves as a resource and coach for questions and practices regarding the ICMS process
We're looking for someone who
Has experience in manufacturing process improvement, manufacturing technologies, digitisation, automation (min 5 years) and can operate confidently in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
Brings strong skills in:
Stakeholder management; influencing
Communication
Data analysis
CI strategy implementation
Thinks end-to-end and takes ownerships for results
Values collaboration, clarity and low-ego ways of working
Business Improvement Qualifications in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt (Desirable)
