Description of Work

CRH is seeking to hire a Health Care Technician II to function as a Psychosocial Treatment Coordinator. The primary purpose of the Psychosocial Treatment Coordinator is to provide assistance to PST staff as they provide oversight of patients and assist in monitoring patient location throughout the day. PST Coordinators are responsible for tracking the location of patients who are arriving to or leaving the treatment mall as well as monitoring patients while they are attending Treatment Mall groups. This position primarily is responsible for adult patients but may also work with child and adolescent units as required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $32,444.00 - $48,665.00

Recruitment Range: $39,312.00 - $48,665.00

*A Sign-on bonus of $2,500 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on Budget Approval.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Must demonstrate competency in therapeutic communication and de-escalating techniques.

  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Must demonstrate basic knowledge of trauma informed care as well as psychiatric disorders. 

Conditional Requirements:

  • Must successfully complete all required initial one-time trainings and hospital/clinical orientations. 

  • Successful annual completion of hospital training, NCI training, discipline specific training for Health Care Technicians, and required departmental training.

  • Successful completion of CPR certification every two years as well as any just-in-time training related to changes in hospital/departmental policies and/or corrective actions.

This is a full-time position and is eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance, paid sick/vacation/holidays, and retirement.  The normal working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with some weekend. Flexibility is required to meet hospital needs.

*Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus

To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.


An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:

  • The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)

  • The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency

  • DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
