Individuals in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) are entrusted with managing the diverse and collective impact of the bank's risks. This involves identifying and managing enterprise-level and cross-cutting risks, designing scenarios for stress tests, managing climate risk, and safeguarding against reputational risk. This role is integral to the overarching objectives of the bank, as it ensures the bank's operations are within defined risk appetite and helps maintain financial stability.
The Vice-President, ERM Data and Tech role will be responsible for managing and enhancing ERM business solutions and their enabling technology within the ERM Programs (Risk Appetite, Limit Management, Digital Assets & AI, Risk Identification etc.) and reporting across the organization. The role partners closely with Risk, Finance, Compliance, Technology, and business stakeholders to ensure product capabilities align with business priorities and deliver measurable value. This role serves as a product manager for one or more strategic ERM platforms including Scenario Manager, My Risk/ ERDL, BCBS-239 reporting and processes within ERM Programs such as Risk Taxonomy, Limit Management, Digital Assets & AI, Risk Identification etc., driving product development, prioritization, adoption, and continuous improvement as part of BAU enhancements. The role is accountable for translating business needs into technology solutions, managing product roadmaps and backlogs, and ensuring successful delivery of enhancements that improve user experience, operational efficiency, and risk management capabilities.
Working under the direction of Director, ERM Data and Technology, this role helps execute the ERM product strategy while fostering collaboration across business and technology teams.
In this role, you’re expected to :
Support the execution of the ERM product strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk management objectives and business priorities.
Serve as product manager for assigned ERM platforms and capabilities, managing product vision, requirements, priorities, and delivery outcomes.
Partner with ERM Program Leads, Report Owners or System Sponsors/Owners but also with Risk, Finance, Compliance, Technology, and other stakeholders to gather to understand business needs and translate requirements into actionable product enhancements, including BAU updates to Enterprise processes.
Co-develop, maintain, and communicate product roadmaps, ensuring alignment among stakeholders and delivery teams.
Co-manage and prioritize product backlogs, balancing business value, user needs, technology constraints, and regulatory requirements.
Lead the delivery of product enhancements and strategic initiatives, ensuring solutions meet business objectives and user expectations.
Drive continuous improvement of ERM platforms, identifying opportunities to improve functionality, efficiency, data quality, and user experience.
Coordinate with technology teams, architects, and delivery partners to support successful solution design, development, testing, and implementation.
Monitor product performance and adoption metrics, identifying opportunities to increase user engagement and business value realization.
Support the integration and optimization of ERM platforms, helping reduce duplication and improve connectivity across risk management processes and systems.
Support Agile delivery processes, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, stakeholder reviews, and release planning activities
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
8-12 years of experience
Experience in product management, business analysis, program delivery, or related disciplines, with demonstrated success supporting technology-enabled business transformation.
Strong understanding of product management principles, including roadmap development, backlog prioritization, stakeholder engagement, and value delivery.
Experience translating complex business requirements into practical technology solutions and detailed product requirements.
Knowledge of enterprise risk management processes, forecasting methodologies, financial concepts, and analytical reporting frameworks.
Familiarity with technology delivery practices, data platforms, systems integration concepts, and software development lifecycles from a business perspective.
Experience supporting complex cross-functional initiatives within large financial institutions or regulated environments.
Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and experience working closely with Agile development teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate competing priorities and make informed recommendations.
Effective stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes across business and technology teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree, master’s degree preferred
