Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting schedules in the following areas: cash, investments, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, leases, capitalized software, debt, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Perform monthly revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable reconciliations, including matching cash collections to customer invoices, reviewing contract balances for accuracy, and monitor contract modifications to ensure they are evaluated and implemented timely.
- Own key components of the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Support operational accounting activities related to accounts payable, including invoice review, payment approvals, vendor reconciliations, and resolution of invoice discrepancies.
- Support integrations between NetSuite and adjacent business systems, including procurement, expense management, and manufacturing platforms by executing data validation tasks, configuration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Assist with technical accounting research and prepare technical workbooks for complex transactions to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Partner closely with Supply Chain, Facilities, Engineering, and FP&A to ensure timely and accurate financial balances and improve cross-functional business processes.
- Contribute to the development of scalable accounting policies, internal controls, and operational procedures to support company growth.
- Support annual financial statement audit requests from external auditors
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve data quality, and increase the efficiency of the accounting function.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of public accounting experience with a nationally recognized accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 842, and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience in month-end close activities and preparing financial reconciliations.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification.
- Operational accounting experience within a high-growth technology, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or industrial company.
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting external audits and implementing internal controls.
- Experience improving accounting processes through automation and system enhancements.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and operational teams.
