Senior Manager, Regulatory Reporting - Personal Banking

What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Regulatory Reporting – Personal Banking will lead regulatory reporting processes for Personal Banking Financial Control, managing submissions to OSFI, Bank of Canada, CDIC, and Statistics Canada. You'll partner with the Senior Director to enhance systems, processes, and controls while ensuring data integrity. This role requires implementing new regulatory requirements from Head Office Finance, interpreting rules and regulations, and delivering accurate, timely, and consistent reporting. You'll need strong technical and project management abilities, analytical skills, effective communication, and a willingness to acquire new industry knowledge.

What will you do?

• Design, implement, and maintain key control processes around regulatory reporting in Personal Banking Platform Financial Control
• Ensure ongoing communication with regulators and business units across various geographic locations to resolve reporting differences and issues
• Lead the implementation of new accounting and regulatory requirements, including analyzing and interpreting rules, assessing reporting implications, and designing data collection processes and templates
• Actively explore report automation opportunities and provide guidance to finance units on new reporting requirements
• Assess the potential impact of regulatory changes and communicate findings to business stakeholders, legal, and compliance
• Recommend courses of action regarding new processes, policies, and procedures
• Work with internal auditors and regulators as required to support audit deliverables and address open questions
• Identify and implement improved automated processes and controls to enhance finance operational excellence

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• CPA or equivalent accounting designation
• 5+ years of relevant accounting or reporting experience, including work with automation tools and large data sets
• Strong understanding of regulatory and financial environments
• Ability to process complex legislative and regulatory matters and apply them operationally
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex industry rules and regulations clearly to employees at all levels
• Strong knowledge of risk management principles and controls
• Advanced Excel skills
• Self-motivated and well-organized

Nice-to-have

• Strong knowledge of RBC systems, products, and reporting processes
• Exposure to CDIC reporting
