Role overview:
Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation) is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to shape, lead, and scale strategic e-commerce initiatives across the global Direct to Consumer business. You will identify and size growth opportunities, turn customer, market, competitive, and trade data into clear commercial choices, and influence product direction. You will lead initiatives from validation through launch, adoption, optimization, and transfer into sustainable business ownership.
You will be accountable for the quality of the commercial recommendation and the measurable outcome. Working with Product, Engineering, Merchandising, Marketing, Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Legal, and Operations, you will establish the evidence required to act, challenge assumptions, and align senior stakeholders around customer and commercial value. This role requires senior commercial judgment and strong hands-on analytical capability. It is not a Data Scientist or project coordination position.
What you'll be doing:
- Drive strategy initiatives in Direct-to-Consumer by identifying the commercial problem, influencing product roadmap and owning pilot and execution.
- Turn complex data into commercial decisions using BI tools, Query Large Data Sets and advanced design of agentic AI to surface insights, diagnose problems, shape decisions and make recommendations.
- Define robust measurement approaches in partnership with Analytics and Data Science for commercial initiatives to assess performance against key business metrics.
- Shape ML roadmaps by providing commercial context and assess ML outputs and forecasts against business objectives, and feedback to ML and measurement teams.
- Drive the full life cycle of commercial strategies from ideation to go-live and handover to day-to-day business operators.
- Influence senior and executive stakeholders by translating evidence and insight into compelling narratives, clear choices, and actionable recommendations.
- Lead cross-functional decisions and change globally, resolve ambiguity without waiting for perfect information.
- Build scalable and sustainable commercial capabilities through reusable playbooks, effective governance, continuous learning loops, automation, and clear transfer criteria.
What we're looking for:
- At least 8 years of experience in management or strategy consulting or relevant experience in commercial strategy, e-commerce, digital commerce, product strategy.
- Measurable commercial impact and growth mindset with a strong record of owning recommendations, driving exeution and delivering outcomes.
- Advanced hands-on data analytics skills, for exploring, interrogating complex data and building visual stories.
- Strong commercial modelling skills and experience building business cases for strategic initiatives.
- Practical knowledge of experiment design and measurement frameworks in the context of evaluating strategy or feature impact.
- Leading global cross-functional initiatives on commercial transformation highly focused on people change.
- Strong experience of partnering with Data Science, Analytics, ML, Product and Engineering teams.
- Experience of operating and making decisions under uncertainty without having perfect information.
- Executive communication skills, with the ability to translate analytical findings and complex concepts into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
