Summary

Galderma is seeking to reinforce its world-class industrial capacities through the implementation of a global end-to-end lean supply and manufacturing program.  Within this framework, we are seeing an experienced Global Head of Operations Excellence to develop, set the pace and accelerate our Operations transformational and continuous improvement strategy with sensitivity towards the organizational structure, culture, people and processes.

Working with Operations functions, and their embedded excellence resources, including Supply Chain, Quality, External Supply, Industrial Development and Plant leadership, you will coordinate and prioritize the required support for the entire Industrial Operations organization and will ensure standardization, where appropriate, in liaison with the other leaders.   Knowledge sharing and communication of best practices will also be a key component of this position across Galderma.

About The Role

As Global Head of Operations Excellence, reporting to the Global Head of Operations, you will drive knowledge sharing across the organization by establishing key practitioner groups focused on continuous end to end improvements and convergence on identified best practices.  By creating collaboration across departments and functions throughout the Operations organization you will ensure alignment of strategy and tactics for successful excellence implementation.

You will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of our global lean supply and manufacturing program with the intent to establish linkage and flow, meet customer demand at lowest cost with perfect quality, consolidate rationalization and enhance organizational agility.

You will be the primary architect and leader of our Operations Excellence Transformation and as such will work to establish programs, practices metrics and standards utilizing lean methodologies, analyze and recommend future state value stream design and also identify opportunities to improve existing practices, procedures and processes toward true north vision. You will lead and mentor leaders and multi-functional teams to implement a standardized excellence methodology to ensure consistent and rigorous application across the business in line with best practice.

Based in Barcelona or London, the position holder will be a member of our Operations Leadership Team, and partner closely with various department to collaborate on all aspects of the company's Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing/Procurement and Supply Chain strategies.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement Galderma’s end-to-end Operations Excellence transformation strategy and deploy a program for lean development across our global supply, industrial and manufacturing footprint including coordination of our drive to 85% Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE)
• Continuously structure, coordinate and update the Operations function annual strategy plan through a clear methodology based on the Hoshin process including dashboard accountability for all Operations functions.
• Conduct Extended Value Stream Baseline analysis, Supplier summit and Kaizen events with site and function leaders to improve performance in the identified areas requiring lean/kaizen support.  Provide high level, lean master/sensei support to help build capability and ensure required event objectives are achieved.   In addition to that, responsible for progressing lean continuous Improvement (CI) and lean culture penetration.
• Pilot Operations’ evaluation of performance, rationalization and agility through cross functional dashboard ownership and reporting.
• Utilize, drive and promote understanding of Lean and Six-Sigma tools and principals to ensure the delivery of business objectives and a culture of continuous improvement; develop and implement improvement plans, facilitate daily visual management, lean conversion and root cause and corrective action (RCCA)
• Provide expertise, professional advice and guidance to the business in business improvement, drawing from proven industry practice and methodologies
• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the Lean strategy
• Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on Lean methodologies. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost
• Effectively coach teams to manage for daily performance using visual controls
• Mentor using Gemba walks and other lead standard work toolkits.
• Coach employees to see abnormal conditions and problem solve systematically
• Lead kaizen events to bring Operations to standard, or improve work performance toward true north
• Ensure 5S/RCCA is taught, implemented and adhered throughout the organization.
• Coordinate, schedule and facilitate as applicable Lean/Six Sigma activities to enhance cross-functional problems solving; utilize Company tool champions as appropriate for more significant lean events

About You

• Solid experience in highly performing manufacturing structures operating at 85%+ OEE.
• Involvement building and leading successful projects and programs with an understanding of the tactics needed for execution, including overall upskilling and upscaling of manufacturing performance.
• Ambitious, entrepreneurial approach to finding new growth levers for the business
• Outstanding executive presence and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire and engage executives

Requirements

• Background in manufacturing, Supply Chain and/or engineering environments within a large global organization, including site manufacturing leadership experience
• Master Black Belt in Six Sigma or equivalent qualification
• Automotive or cost oriented company experience preferred
• Background in people management, project management and digital transformation
• Qualified Trainer certification and experience would be appreciated
• Membership of an industry-related professional body would be advantageous
