Overview:      

Responsible at the proficient level for designing, developing, testing, and supporting technology solutions for Liquidity financial reporting, including FR 2052a and Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR). Writes reliable code, supports technical requirements gathering, and works with business and technology partners to deliver accurate, timely, controlled, and resilient regulatory and management reporting solutions in accordance with banking technology standards and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, implement, and support technology solutions for Liquidity financial reporting within the approved Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Translate Liquidity business, regulatory, data, and control requirements into scalable technical designs and well-defined development tasks, partnering with senior engineers, report owners, Treasury, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Develop organized, clean, efficient, and secure code at a proficient level in at least one relevant programming or scripting language, with appropriate review by a senior team member.
• Build and support data ingestion, transformation, reconciliation, and reporting processes using Snowflake, SQL, and related data technologies to help ensure complete, accurate, and timely Liquidity reporting.
• Develop, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Automic workflows and batch schedules, including job dependencies, restart and recovery procedures, alerting, and timely delivery of data and reports.
• Support integrations among source systems, data staging and warehouse platforms, calculation or reporting applications, file-transfer services, and downstream reporting processes.
• Perform unit, integration, regression, and production validation testing; investigate data-quality issues, failed jobs, performance concerns, and reporting variances; and document root cause and remediation actions.
• Implement and maintain automated controls, reconciliations, audit evidence, operational procedures, and data lineage supporting Liquidity reporting and regulatory expectations.
• Utilize source control, deployment, change-management, and CI/CD tools to organize and maintain code, promote changes across environments, and resolve conflicts with guidance as needed.
• Participate in pull requests and code reviews by presenting solutions and providing constructive feedback on code quality, security, performance, maintainability, and resiliency.
• Collaborate with business and technology partners during release planning, implementation, production support, incident response, disaster recovery testing, and continuous improvement activities.
• Document technical designs, data mappings, workflow dependencies, support procedures, and implementation details clearly and concisely.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Education and Experience Required:

• Associate's degree and a minimum of 3 years’ systems analysis and/ or application development work experience OR Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year systems analysis and/or application development work experience. In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years’ education and/or relevant work experience, including a minimum of 1 year of systems analysis and/or application development work experience
• Professional proficiency in a minimum of 1 relevant programming language

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Experience supporting Liquidity financial or regulatory reporting, including FR 2052a, LCR, NSFR, and/or ILST.
• Working knowledge of Liquidity data concepts, regulatory reporting controls, reconciliations, data lineage, and audit-ready documentation.
• Experience with Snowflake, including SQL development, data transformation, query troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Automic or a comparable enterprise workload automation and batch-scheduling platform.
• Experience with relational databases, data warehouses, ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and secure file-transfer technologies.
• Familiarity with source control, CI/CD, release management, monitoring and alerting, incident management, and production-support tools.
• Basic analytical and problem-solving skills specific to application development and financial data processing.
• Experience working collaboratively with engineering, data, Treasury, Finance, risk, and regulatory reporting teams.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and contribute to moderately complex projects in a deadline-driven reporting environment.
• Strong organizational, time-management, verbal, and written communication skills.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $80,900.00 - $134,800.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
