Program Overview:

Our IT Business Office Internship Program offers a dynamic 10-week experience designed to expose undergraduate students to the business operations of Technology, including IT project and portfolio management, financial planning and spend analysis, performance reporting and analytics, strategic technology initiatives, including Technology’s AI program. Interns will work closely with experienced IT professionals and project teams to support initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness, advance technology capabilities, and support AI transformation across Technology.

Throughout the program, we prioritize your professional growth by helping you build the analytical, communication, and business skills needed to advance your career. You’ll gain exposure to how Technology operates across the bank while participating in professional development, hands-on project work, and networking opportunities. Key program components include:

• Onboarding Week: Kick off your internship with an orientation, featuring training sessions, networking with peers and SouthState leaders, and an introduction to our banking business.
• Hands-On Experience: Work alongside high-performing teams, participating in daily activities to build analytical and creative skills, and gain insight into critical banking and technology processes.
• Mentorship & Support: Partner with experienced team members who provide guidance, answer questions, and offer feedback to help you navigate challenges and grow professionally.
• Speaker Series: Hear from senior leaders about industry trends in banking and technology trends, and how to maximize your internship experience.
• Networking Opportunities: Engage in organized events to connect with peers, employees, and leaders across the organization while contributing to community initiatives.

In This Role, You Will:

• Participate in internship program activities, including workshops, training sessions, and special projects.

• Support IT portfolio tracking, governance, status reporting, and dashboards.
• Assist with IT finance activities, including invoice tracking, and spend analysis.
• Support Technology Service Provider oversight activities
• Help collect, analyze, and report project and operational metrics.
• Develop presentations, business cases, and leadership-ready materials.
• Research AI solutions and support the IT AI intake, evaluation, and prioritization process.
• Collaborate with IT Business Office team members, IT leaders, and project teams to support ongoing processes and new initiatives.

• Prioritize tasks, maintain attention to detail, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Education: Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Project Management, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Rising Senior graduating in December 2027 or May 2028 preferred. 3.4 GPA preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; strong analytical and creative mindset, and eagerness to learn. Experience and/or exposure to Visio, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint and Power Query are a plus!
• Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively under pressure.   

Training Requirements:

• Complete mandatory new hire compliance training and New Employee Orientation.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. The role requires extended time using a computer, which can be accommodated by sitting or standing at an appropriate desk. Work Environment

This position is remote 5 days a week: 40 hours a week, with minimal travel required.  Some in office days may be requested.

Compensation: $20 per hour
