What you'll do...
Role summary:The Senior Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, ensures the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities through routine preventive maintenance and timely repairs. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing major and minor repairs, and overseeing less-experienced associates. The position requires managing maintenance schedules, coordinating contractors, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Senior Technician also provides hands-on training, evaluates skill development, and supports continuous improvement efforts to uphold quality and operational excellence across Walmart facilities.
About the team:
The Facilities Management HVACR team oversees maintenance and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems across company sites. They provide technical expertise, training, and troubleshooting to maintain system performance while adhering to safety and environmental standards. The team manages parts inventory and collaborates with stakeholders to implement improvements and special projects. What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures following established schedules and safety guidelines.
- Inspect, diagnose, and document facility conditions, recommending repairs or replacements to prevent future issues.
- Utilize multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to complete maintenance tasks.
- Operate heavy machinery and power tools safely, conducting pre- and post-operation inspections.
- Lead and mentor less-experienced associates, providing hands-on training and overseeing work quality.
- Manage work orders, parts inventory, and contractor coordination to ensure timely and compliant maintenance.
- Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures using multiple craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Ability to diagnose issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs, and to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
- Experience managing work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor coordination.
- Demonstrated leadership in training, mentoring, and overseeing less-experienced associates.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with managers, vendors, and team members.
- Capability to operate heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety protocols.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 6 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
