Position Summary

The Data & Student Support Manager plays a vital role at Kingsbridge Elementary School. This leader serves as the primary point of contact for special populations compliance, ensuring students receive the services and support they need, and partners closely with the Assistant Principal to coordinate student support services, support families, strengthen systems, and help drive successful outcomes for all learners. 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Serves as an in-house expert on data platforms, assessment tools, and reporting systems 
  • Manages and maintains data platforms, including setup, syncing, cleaning, updating, and monitoring (e.g.,iReady, LinkIt).
  • Creates and maintains rosters, trackers, templates, and schedules to support accurate and timely data collection.
  • Coordinates and schedules administration of all academic assessments (NYSTP, iReady, ARA, etc.), accounting for all student testing accommodations.
  • Order, organize, and ensure accessibility of all assessment materials 
  • Supports School Leadership Team as they review, analyze, and present formative and summative assessment data at the student, class, grade, and school levels to inform decisions made by school leaders and teachers, including but not limited to dashboards in LinkIt, and baselines. 
  • Collaborates with school leadership to train staff on data analysis protocols and support data-informed decision-making (For example: co-lead/lead looking at student work or RTD meetings with teachers/teams of teachers).
  • Supports survey completion and administration.
  • Supports with class construction and student retention panel. 

Special Populations Compliance & Coordination

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all compliance matters related to Students with Disabilities (SWD/IEP), English Language Learners (ELL/ENL), at-risk students, 504s and Title I reading services. This includes attending IEP meetings. 
  • Ensures all students are receiving mandated services as specified in their IEPs, ENL plans, and other service agreements.
  • Monitors and enforces compliance with service delivery schedules, ensuring providers are following prescribed timelines and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinates and/or facilitates professional development to support tiered intervention.
  • Serves as the primary contact for external agencies, the DOE, and other reporting bodies on matters of special populations compliance.
  • Maintains comprehensive, up-to-date compliance records including evaluations, service provisions, family communications, and progress monitoring documentation through the use of technology and data analysis platforms.
  • Compiles and provides relevant student data to support CST (Child Study Team) and BEARS (Behavioral Emotional At Risk) meeting facilitators, including attendance, academic performance, service history, and intervention progress.
  • Tracks the progress of students within each RTI (Response to Intervention) tier based on diagnostic data and relevant evidence.
  • Ensures all required reporting for ENL students is submitted to all necessary agencies and parties on time.
  • Communicates progress of all special population students routinely to school-based leaders and network-level leadership.
  • Engage and support families in understanding special education offerings. 
  • Lead and monitor our special populations programming. 
  • Monitor and support ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) programming 
  • Lead professional development sessions for staff and families as needed.

School Operations & General Responsibilities

  • Serves as a member of the campus instructional leadership team, including walkthroughs and co-leading/facilitating professional learning experiences as needed.
  • Supervises arrival, dismissal, transitions, lunch, and/or recess as needed to ensure student safety.
  • Contributes to extended learning opportunities beyond the typical school day (e.g., tutoring, summer programming).
  • Supports network-level data reporting and contributes to Shared Support Team (SST) initiatives as needed.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for families navigating special education, intervention, and student support services.
  • Communicates the special education process to families,  including referrals, evaluations, annual IEPs/504 plans, re-evaluations, and parental rights granted by IDEA.
  • Facilitates parent workshops and identify resources related to special education, IEPs, student supports, etc. 
  • Reviews disciplinary actions involving students with disabilities.
  •  Facilitates manifestation determination reviews (MDRs) when required.
  • Oversee functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • New York State Special Education certification required. 
  • 2 years of experience in data management, compliance coordination, or student services in a K–12 school setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IEP compliance requirements, ENL/ELL regulations, and RTI frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency with student information systems (e.g., PowerSchool), assessment platforms (e.g., iReady and Google Suite / Microsoft Office.
  • Experience managing or maintaining compliance documentation and reporting to external agencies.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with diverse constituencies, including administrators, teachers, families, and external agencies.
  • Completion and clearance of pre-employment fingerprinting and reference check process.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree. 
  • 4 years of experience in data management, compliance coordination, or student services in a K–12 school setting

Amber’s Expectations:

  • Experience collaborating across multiple school campuses to foster continuity in best practices.
  • Familiarity with NYC DOE compliance requirements and charter school regulatory environment.
  • Experience facilitating CST or similar student support team meetings.
  • Experience manipulating large datasets and producing clear, actionable data reports.
  • Knowledge of NYS learning standards and high-quality K–8 curriculum programs.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.

  • Laptop, Promethean board, classroom, and office equipment. 

Work Schedule

  • 12-month work schedule
  • 8 am - 4 pm 
  • There may be opportunities to complete work off-site if this is conducive to the task and needs of the school-building 

Work Environment/Physical Effort:  

Regularly required to sit, stand for long periods of time, walk, climb stairs, speak loudly and clearly, visually observe, hear, operate a computer, and other classroom, school and office equipment, reach with hands and arms, bend down, and must occasionally lift, move and/or support up to 20 pounds. Work is being performed in a traditional multi-floor school environment with limited to no elevator access.

Compensation:  

Amber Charter Schools strictly follow a salary schedule for each role to ensure our continued commitment towards pay equity. The expected salary range for this role is $87,000- $92,298, depending on verified relevant work experience, highest level of completed education, and required certifications and/or licenses for the role. This is an exempt position.

Signing Bonus: This position has been designated by Amber Charter Schools as a critical compliance role. As such, the selected candidate is eligible for a one-time signing bonus of $5,000, less applicable tax withholdings, and payable in accordance with our signing bonus process. Designation of a position as eligible for a signing bonus, and the amount of any such bonus, is determined on a case-by-case basis by network leadership based on the compliance-critical nature of the role and is not a standard benefit applicable to all positions.
