Job Description - Readiness and Response Consultant
Consumer Business Continuity supports the continuity of critical business operations across Financial Centers, Contact Centers, and administrative functions. This role is responsible for assessing, coordinating, and managing response activities for a wide range of operational disruptions, helping restore normal business operations while minimizing impacts to clients and teammates.
The Consultant serves as a key partner during disruptive events, leveraging established business continuity plans, response playbooks, and enterprise partnerships to drive timely resolution and recovery. Responsibilities include managing multiple concurrent events, coordinating cross-functional response efforts, and providing guidance to business partners on operational resilience and continuity practices.
This role works closely with Financial Center, Contact Center, Technology, Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, Security, and other enterprise partners to address disruptions ranging from technology outages and facility incidents to severe weather events and other business-impacting situations. The Consultant also supports ongoing readiness efforts by identifying process improvements, enhancing response procedures, and strengthening preparedness capabilities across the organization.
Success in this role requires strong operational leadership, sound judgment, effective communication, and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver who can assess impacts, coordinate recovery efforts, and build strong partnerships across lines of business to ensure the continuity of critical services and support for clients and teammates.
Responsibilities
Respond to a broad range of business disruptions, including facility incidents, technology outages, natural disasters, physical security events, and reputational risks.
Assess business impacts and coordinate response efforts to minimize disruption to clients, teammates, and critical business operations.
Manage multiple concurrent events with a high degree of accuracy, urgency, and attention to detail.
Partners across Consumer, Technology, Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, Security, and other enterprise teams to support the timely restoration of services and operations.
Coordinate response and recovery activities for Financial Centers and administrative sites impacted by operational disruptions.
Leverage available tools, resources, and established procedures to resolve issues and support business recovery efforts.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with line of business stakeholders, serving as a trusted point of contact during disruptive events.
Communicate effectively with business partners and leadership, providing timely updates, guidance, and escalation support as needed.
Participate in cross-functional initiatives, discussions, and exercises to strengthen business continuity preparedness and recovery capabilities.
Identify potential business continuity risks, operational gaps, and opportunities for process improvement, escalating concerns when appropriate.
Develop and enhance procedures, job aids, and business processes to improve operational readiness and response effectiveness.
Manage and prioritize requests received through the Readiness & Response shared inbox and workflow tools, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
Consistently meet established timelines, service level agreements (SLAs), and operational commitments.
Foster strong collaboration and partnership across Consumer Business Continuity and key enterprise stakeholders.
Requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule for one week at a time, approximately every 4-6 weeks from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET, seven days a week, with 24-hour support provided through the toll-free number.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of leadership experience within the Financial Center and/or Contact Center line of business.
Understanding Business Continuity and operational resilience principles, including preparedness, response, recovery, and minimizing the impact of business disruptions.
Strong understanding of the Enterprise Risk Framework.
Strategic, solutions-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams to achieve shared objectives.
Ability to build partnerships and foster a positive, inclusive team culture within a diverse workforce.
Solid understanding of Consumer business operations and cross-functional partner dependencies across the organization.
Experience managing operational disruptions, incident response activities, and business recovery efforts.
Ability to assess business impacts and drive timely resolution through effective stakeholder engagement and coordination.
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and deliver results.
Demonstrated ability to meet established deadlines and service level agreements (SLAs).

Enterprise Description:
This job is responsible for consulting on corporate business continuity topics with clients. Key responsibilities include recommending and implementing solutions that protect the bank's assets and participating or leading business continuity initiatives and ongoing process activities (i.e., scenario analysis, plan development, testing, event management, and progress reporting/measurement). Job expectations include providing subject matter consulting support in audit and regulatory matters as needed.
