Software Engineer, Full Stack

The Team + The Role

Pendo’s feature teams build the experiences that help customers understand their users, improve their products, and get more value from their software. Engineers work closely with Product and Design to solve meaningful customer problems, from evolving widely used product experiences to building entirely new capabilities.

We’re looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with a strong frontend focus to help build what’s next. In this role, you’ll work primarily in Vue, JavaScript, and TypeScript, while contributing across the stack to deliver polished customer experiences and the backend services and APIs that power them. You’ll also use AI as a core part of your development workflow and contribute to AI-powered product capabilities, including work with MCP, LLMs, and emerging technologies across Pendo.

This role is based in our Raleigh office.

What this looks like day-to-day

• Feature delivery: Own well-scoped features from implementation through production. Break work into small, independently shippable increments and deliver consistent progress toward team goals.
• Full-stack engineering: Build across the frontend and backend, with a strong lean toward TypeScript and Vue.js. Deliver polished, reliable customer-facing experiences while contributing to the backend services and APIs that power them.
• AI and MCP development: Build and expand MCP and AI-powered capabilities that help customers interact with, understand, and act on their Pendo data. Work with emerging technologies such as LLMs and agentic workflows where they support meaningful product outcomes.
• Production engineering: Write maintainable, production-ready code and apply testing strategies appropriate to the risk of your changes. Follow established patterns for safe rollout, release, and operation in production.
• AI-enabled development: Use AI coding tools as a core part of your daily workflow. Apply strong engineering judgment, review rigor, and accountability to AI-generated code just as you would to your own.
• Technical collaboration: Participate actively in planning and technical discussions. Provide useful code review feedback and collaborate with teammates to move shared work forward.
• Continuous improvement: Build deeper knowledge of the systems you work in and identify recurring issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Raise ways to improve code quality, reliability, and how the team delivers software.

Must-haves

• 2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer building and shipping production web applications.
• Experience building full-stack applications, including backend services and APIs, with strong frontend experience using JavaScript or TypeScript and a component-based framework such as Vue, React, or Angular.
• Daily use of AI tools as part of your software development workflow.
• Ability to independently deliver well-scoped features and break work into small, deliverable increments.
• Experience applying unit, integration, or end-to-end testing strategies appropriate to the risk and scope of a change.
• Experience identifying risks and blockers in your work, raising them early, and continuing to drive progress independently.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including participation in planning, technical discussions, and code reviews.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Vue and TypeScript.
• Experience building applications that operate on large-scale datasets, including millions or billions of records, long-running queries, or asynchronous processing.
• Experience building AI-powered product features using technologies such as LLM APIs, agents, or Model Context Protocol.
• Experience with Go or GCP.
• Familiarity with safe deployment and rollout patterns such as feature flags and canary releases.
• Experience building accessible, inclusive web experiences.

Location: Pendo is a hybrid culture. In-office 3 days per week unless designated remote.

Compensation: The expected salary range for this role to be performed in Raleigh, NC is $108,000 - $131,000.
