About the Role
At Hill Bros, our drivers are the backbone of everything we do — and the Recruiting & Retention Coordinator plays a critical role in making sure we're bringing in the right people and keeping them. This position supports the full driver lifecycle from first contact to long-term engagement, working alongside Operations, Safety, Maintenance, Payroll, and HR to create a driver experience that reflects our values.
If you're someone who thrives on building relationships, staying organized in a fast-paced environment, and genuinely cares about the people you work with — we'd love to talk.
What You'll Do
- Recruiting Support — Coordinate driver recruiting pipelines, process qualification files, conduct interviews, and serve as backup recruiter as needed
- Onboarding & Qualification — Facilitate the first day of driver qualification class, manage DOT compliance documentation, and request employment verification for the previous 7-year history
- Driver Retention — Foster early driver relationships, conduct surveys and follow-up calls, serve as a liaison between drivers and leadership, and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve driver concerns
- Reporting & Data — Produce MVR, turnover, and productivity reports; track and analyze key retention and recruiting metrics; ensure accurate and timely data entry into Safety Department systems
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of experience in transportation recruiting, driver management, HR, safety, or operations
- Strong understanding of CDL driver recruiting and retention practices preferred
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational habits
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with applicant tracking systems a plus
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
