Associate/Technical Director, Technical Specialist – Bulk Materials Handling

What you’ll do
As an Associate/Technical Director, Technical Specialist – Bulk Materials Handling in our Industrial Mechanical team based in Perth, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.
Lead studies, concept development and detailed design for bulk materials handling systems across mining, ports and industrial infrastructure projects
Provide technical leadership in the design of receiving, transferring and storage systems, including conveyors, train loadouts, complex machines, transfer chutes, stockyards etc
Develop safe, efficient and practical bulk materials handling solutions, with a strong focus on iron ore operations
Lead conveyor designs using first principles and specialist software, and oversee material-flow analysis and DEM simulations for chute design
Integrate mechanical, structural, civil and electrical engineering inputs to deliver complete and constructible project solutions
Build trusted client relationships, lead technical discussions and mentor engineers through study and project execution phases
What you’ll bring
Extensive experience in bulk materials handling projects, particularly within the iron ore, mining or heavy industrial sectors
Strong technical expertise in conveyor systems, transfer chutes, receiving, transfer, storage and stockyard equipment and complex materials handling machines
Proven experience leading studies and trade-off assessments, as well as feasibility studies and detailed engineering packages
Practical experience with conveyor design software and the application or review of DEM simulations for chute design
Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams and deliver high-quality multidisciplinary outcomes
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with professional accreditation appropriate to a senior technical role
