Position Overview:
We are seeking an Internist to join a network of federally qualified community health centers located in the Bronx, New York. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care to a diverse and underserved patient population within a mission-driven community health setting.

Qualifications:
- MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited residency program.
- Active state medical license.
- Board Certified.
- Understanding of and passion for community healthcare preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Proficient in conducting medical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and using electronic health records.
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, empathy, cultural competence, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine or conduct tests on patients to provide information on medical conditions.
- Analyze records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose the patient's medical condition.
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
- Explain procedures and discuss test results and prescribed treatments with patients.
- Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
- Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary; complete and submit appropriate progress reports to the CMO.
- Advise patients and the community concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and follow federal/state and organizational regulations.
- Plan, implement, or administer health programs or standards for information, prevention, or treatment of injury or illness.
- Attend scheduled monthly and quarterly medical staff meetings, as well as education meetings.
- Agree to see patients irrespective of their medical condition/diagnosis.
- Provide 24-hour on-call service on a rotating weekly basis.
- Conduct research to study anatomy and develop or test medications, treatments, or procedures to prevent or control disease and injury.
- Obtain and maintain admitting privileges at affiliated hospitals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
