What You Will Achieve

In this role, you will:

The Maintenance Technician II performs maintenance, adjustments and, troubleshooting on various types of equipment.  Operates HVAC/Facility equipment such as air handling units, hot water treatment systems, air ducting equipment, and other facility / HVAC support systems. Position is heavily involved in HEPA filter testing in manufacturing clean rooms spaces. This position must adhere to all SOPs, cGMPs, and plant quality, site safety procedures, and documentation systems requirements.  Other related duties essential to these operations or special assignments will be required as assigned. This position assures electrical and mechanical systems function adequately to minimize down time and provides for a safe work environment. This position is considered “essential personnel” to support site operations agendas.

Working with Pfizer’s dynamic engineering team, you will play a critical part in managing the maintenance and reliability engineering activities involving HEPA testing, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, buildings, and production/non-production equipment.

 

You will be a team member who is relied to have a good understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment. Your decision making will help you prioritize workflows based on the available resources. You will follow standard procedures to complete tasks, some of which may vary in scope, sequence, complexity and timing. You will contribute to the team’s success by sharing your previously acquired knowledge.

• Participate in multi-craft work and activities to support Manufacturing operations
• Support piping and valve installations/ pipe fitting and welding.
• Assist with plant operations and be involved in safety committee to conduct safety inspection and audits.
• Track repair history of process support systems for HEPA testing operations
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities in HVAC and ventilation systems
• Read and follow equipment schematics, logic diagrams and engineering drawings.
• Conduct rounds in Good Manufacturing Practices (also see cGMP) and non-GMP buildings, troubleshoot GMP equipment and systems for HVAC related equipment
• Train peers and mechanics on equipment supported by the HVAC department
• Ensure all maintenance activity is completed within designated timeframe filing proper documentation per Standard Operating Procedures as necessary for extensions.
• Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements and protocols.
• Make recommendations regarding improved process performance.
• Read and interpret detailed blueprints and schematics.
• Manage own time and professional development, accountable for own results and prioritize own workflow.

 

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience
• Excellent computer user skills
• Functional or Technical Knowledge of basic discipline
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Sound interpersonal, decision making and problem solving skills

 

Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)

• HEPA testing certification
• Previous Biopharma experience
• Knowledge of Food and Drug Administration PSM, Good
• Manufacturing Practices {also cGMP} policies and procedures

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Stand up to 8-12 hours per shift, sit for up to 2-4 hours per shift, twist at waist 10 times per hour, regularly lift up to 20 pounds per activity 5 times per shift, occasionally lift a maximum of 50 pounds per activity 1 time per shift, walk, climb stairs, climb ladders/walk on catwalks able to don and work in controlled area garments to accommodate area maintenance requirements.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

12-hour shift rotation: 6:45 AM to 6:45 PM

The salary for this position ranges from $28.76 to $47.93 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
