Your New Role
Join Warner Bros. Discovery Sports as a Technical Producer, where you will provide clear technical ownership across live sports productions and act as the primary link between Editorial, Production, Engineering and Operations teams. You will help translate editorial ambitions into practical, resilient technical solutions, ensuring high-quality delivery across broadcast, streaming, digital and social platforms. Your Role Accountabilities
- Act as the primary technical lead for the Executive Producer and Production Manager.
- Engage early in production planning to gain a full understanding of editorial intent and regional requirements.
- Interpret production needs and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Advise Production on options that add production value while balancing operational complexity.
- Ensure all technical discussions are streamlined and focused through a single point of ownership.
- Ensure a centralised, accessible repository of technical documentation for each event.
- Create and maintain complex planning documentation and templates.
- Capture all regional and local requirements consistently.
- Ensure changes to requirements are communicated promptly to all stakeholders.
- Produce testing schedules to ensure readiness ahead of rehearsals.
- Ensure all bookings are correctly entered into Mediapulse.
- Continuously improve templates to support comprehensive data capture.
- Provide mentoring and development support for aspiring Production Engineers.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing across technical teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in production standards and delivery methodologies.
- Capture lessons learned after events and use them to improve future planning, documentation and delivery processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience overseeing technical planning and delivery within live sports production environments.
- Proven background in Production Engineering, Technical Operations or equivalent broadcast delivery roles.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with Production, Editorial, Engineering and Operations stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret editorial intent and convert it into practical, resilient technical solutions.
- Experience coordinating vendors, scope changes, budgets, risks and technical dependencies across complex productions.
- Ability to coordinate complex projects across multiple locations and teams.
- Experience with IP and distributed broadcast solutions.
- Familiarity with hub-based and remote production models.
