Role Description
The Sales Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Tampa, FL, responsible for supporting customers and the sales team with technical expertise on building technology solutions. This role involves assessing client needs, developing tailored system proposals, and presenting technical solutions that align with performance, efficiency, and budget requirements. The Sales Engineer collaborates with account managers, project teams, and service personnel to ensure smooth implementation and ongoing customer satisfaction. Daily activities include preparing technical documentation, responding to product and system inquiries, providing pre- and post-sales technical support, and participating in site visits and customer meetings. The role also includes maintaining up-to-date knowledge of ATS Waypoint’s offerings, industry standards, and emerging technologies to support informed recommendations.
Qualifications
- Sales Engineering and technical solution design skills, with the ability to translate customer requirements into system proposals.
- Technical Support and troubleshooting skills for building technologies, control systems, or related products.
- Strong Communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Sales and Customer Service skills, with a focus on relationship-building, responsiveness, and long-term client satisfaction.
- Experience in building automation, energy management, HVAC controls, or similar technical fields is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site with customers, conduct site assessments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proficiency with standard office and productivity software; familiarity with CAD or system design tools is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to environmentally conscious solutions.
