Position Summary 


 FSM Group, LLC, an aviation fuel management company with operations across North America, has an immediate opening for a Supervisor at our Boston airport location. 


The Fueling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the performance, safety, and daily activities of aircraft fueling personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. This role ensures compliance with company policies, operational standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.   


Essential Responsibilities 

  • Oversee and participate in aircraft fueling and servicing activities in accordance with established safety procedures, operational standards, and applicable regulatory requirements  
  • Coordinate daily work assignments and communicate with dispatch, team members, airline representatives, and other airport personnel to promote safe, efficient, and timely operations  
  • Monitor and verify the accuracy of fueling documentation, fuel dispensing records, and other operational data entered into company-provided handheld devices and applicable systems  
  • Review flight-related information, including destination, aircraft identification, and flight number, to help ensure fueling activities are completed accurately and in accordance with operational requirements  
  • Monitor the condition and operational readiness of fueling equipment, carts, hoses, and related tools by conducting or overseeing routine inspections and facilitating timely corrective action when needed  
  • Lead team members in the safe operation and handling of fueling equipment while reinforcing compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and operational expectations  
  • Observe work practices, provide coaching and constructive feedback, and communicate performance expectations to promote safe, efficient, and consistent job performance  
  • Assist with training and ongoing development of team members in accordance with established procedures and operational requirements  
  • Address operational issues and communicate timely updates regarding staffing, equipment, aircraft servicing, and other operational matters to appropriate leadership 
  • Promote compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable federal, state, local, airport, and airline regulations  
  • Complete required operational reports, inspections, and other documentation accurately and within established timeframes  
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business and operational needs

Requirements

 

Minimum Requirements 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age 
  • Possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record in accordance with company standards 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States 
  • Ability to maintain reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as operational needs require 
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance 
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and applicable background checks, including federal fingerprinting, in accordance with regulatory requirements 
  • Ability to access all areas of the airport necessary to perform job duties, including secured areas, in compliance with airport and federal regulations 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required government security clearance; employment is contingent upon successful completion of all applicable background checks and clearance requirements as determined by the contracting agency 
  • Previous experience performing aircraft fueling operations in an airport, military, or comparable aviation environment 
  • Knowledge of aviation fueling safety standards and procedures

  • Ability to train, coach, and motivate team members, and to represent the organization professionally when interacting with customers and airport stakeholders 
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices related to fuel operations 
  • Proven ability to lead, guide, and develop team members in a safety-focused operational environment 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to address routine operational challenges 
  • Basic mathematical proficiency 
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance guidelines, and procedural manuals 
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English as required to perform job duties and support safe operations in the airport environment, including during emergencies or situations requiring a shared language for safety 
  • Ability to interpret and carry out instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram form 
  • Proficiency with computer systems and common workplace software applications, including Microsoft Office applications, data entry and operational reporting systems   
  • Ability to ensure company standards are applied consistently while fostering a respectful and productive work environment 

Physical and Environmental Requirements 


This position requires sustained physical effort and consistent exposure to outdoor and potentially hazardous work environments. The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation. 


Mobility and Access 

  • Ability to climb up and down stairs and ladders with 50+ steps and work at heights of 50 feet or more, including high, precarious places 
  • Ability to get in and out of vehicles of varying sizes and heights 
  • Ability to drive and operate vehicles and equipment of various sizes, including automated lifts up to 26 feet 

Standing and Movement 

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, climb, and balance for extended periods of time 
  • Perform repetitive physical movements, including bending at the waist and knees, and sustaining  awkward or physically demanding positions 
  • Capable of climbing and standing on step ladders while performing overhead work, such as connecting fueling hoses 

Lifting and Carrying 

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds overhead 
  • Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds to waist level 
  • Ability to shovel materials such as snow, sand, dirt, gravel, or rocks as needed 

Manual Dexterity 

  • Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grip, and operate tools, equipment, and controls 

Sensory Requirements 

  • Hear and respond to verbal instructions, environmental sounds, and audible alarms 
  • Maintain the following vision capabilities 
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) 
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more) 
  • Color vision (identify and distinguish between colors) 
  • Peripheral vision (see up/down and side-to-side while focused on a central point) 
  • Depth perception (assess distance and spatial relationships) 
  • Ability to adjust focus (sharpen vision at various distances) 

Environmental and Working Conditions 

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind 
  •  Tolerate frequent exposure to
