Accountant

We are looking for a qualified or nearly qualified Accountant to join our client's team full-time.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will manage day-to-day finance operations, management reporting, planning, compliance and process improvements.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded, detail-oriented and able to work independently with a hands-on approach.

## Tasks

• Manage the day-to-day accounting activities, including processing supplier invoices and preparing payments for approval.
• Take responsibility for month-end accounting procedures, including journal entries and reconciliation of bank, supplier and customer accounts.
• Maintain the accounting system and ensure financial records, master data and reporting information remain accurate and up to date.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including the income statement, balance sheet and other relevant financial reports.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT, corporate tax and other statutory returns.
• Oversee payroll processing, ensuring salaries, statutory deductions and related requirements are handled accurately and on time.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process, including monitoring and analysing variances.
• Monitor cash flow and contribute to effective treasury and working capital management.
• Coordinate the annual external audit, including preparing documentation, managing audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.
• Ensure accounting activities are carried out in line with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and internal procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls and financial procedures.
• Provide financial support to the Managing Director and assist with additional finance-related tasks as required.

## Requirements

• Qualified Accountant or currently in the final stage of ACCA qualification.
• **3–5 years of relevant experience** in a similar accounting position.
• Strong written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly and professionally.
• Good communication, problem-solving and influencing skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach to work.
• Comfortable working independently with limited supervision.
• Able to adapt to changing priorities and take ownership of new responsibilities when required.
