Overview
An exciting opportunity in AtkinsRéalis is available for a passionate and motivated Sustainability Consultant to join our Sustainability and Environment team. Working under the guidance of our leads in Middle East, you will be collaborating with our existing team based in the Middle East (ME) Region to develop the regional offering, building on your specialized technical knowledge whilst working on the design of some of the most exciting projects in the region. The position is ideal for the suitable individual to work with a driven sustainability team through pro-active engagement with AtkinRealis’s global offices and clients as well as developing new relationships in the region.
The Sustainability Manager will lead the delivery of sustainability, decarbonization, net zero, energy, GHG, and green building certification projects across the built environment sector. The role requires strong technical expertise, project management capability, and the ability to independently manage workstreams and client interfaces.
The individual will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical outputs, managing project tasks and teams, and supporting business development activities. The role also involves mentoring junior staff and contributing to the continuous development of sustainability services and methodologies.
Your role
Technical Competency
· Degree in Engineering, Sustainable Energy, Environmental Sciences, Architecture, Building Services Engineering, Sustainable Development, or a related discipline.
· Minimum 8 years of relevant sustainability consulting experience.
· Strong expertise in one or more sustainability disciplines including sustainable buildings, sustainable communities, decarbonization, climate resilience, commissioning, or existing buildings.
· Experience leading sustainability assessments, energy studies, carbon assessments, and technical analyses.
· Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale projects across multiple project stages.
· Strong knowledge of green building certification systems including LEED, WELL, Mostadam, Estidama, BREEAM, or equivalent.
· Understanding of sustainability regulations, policies, industry standards, and net zero frameworks.
· Ability to review and quality assure technical deliverables prepared by junior team members.
· Professional accreditation such as LEED AP, WELL AP, Mostadam AP, Estidama PQP, or equivalent preferred.
Business Development Competency
· Support pursuit opportunities, proposals, and technical submissions.
· Prepare technical methodologies, scope definitions, and fee estimates.
· Build and maintain relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
· Participate in client presentations, workshops, and strategy discussions.
· Identify opportunities for additional services and project extensions.
· Contribute to the development of new sustainability services, tools, and methodologies.
· Maintain awareness of market trends, regulations, and industry developments.
Team Management Competency
· Manage project workstreams and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
· Plan and monitor project deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements.
· Line manage, mentor and support consultants and graduate team members.
· Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
· Support project quality assurance and governance processes.
· Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

· Experienced in line management, with responsibility for staff line management and performance management.
· Have strong report writing, communication and presentation skills.
· Have experience with certification in the built environment for mega projects in Saudi Arabia.
