The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises, helping people to survive, recover, and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933, the IRC is now at work in over 40 countries and 22 U.S. cities, restoring safety, dignity, and hope to millions who are uprooted by conflict or disaster. IRC South Sudan has operated since 1989 and currently runs programming across 10 offices in 5 states and one Administrative Area, delivering multi-sectoral humanitarian and development assistance in one of the world's most fragile operating environments. South Sudan, independent since 9 July 2011, continues to face significant conflict-related displacement, and IRC's Grants and Partnership Unit plays a central role in mobilizing and stewarding the resources that sustain this response.
