  • Partner with HRIS and technical teams to oversee payroll-related configurations, enhancements, upgrades, testing, and implementation activities across Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, and Compensation modules.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local payroll tax regulations and employment-related payroll requirements throughout the U.S. and Canada.
  • Oversee payroll tax filings, reconciliations, account maintenance, and issue resolution in partnership with payroll service providers and tax agencies.
  • Partner with Stock Administration, Finance, and Accounting teams to ensure accurate payroll processing and tax treatment of equity-based compensation programs, including RSUs, stock option exercises, and ESPP transactions.
  • Lead payroll involvement in audits, including SOX, 401(k), workers' compensation, financial audits, and other internal and external compliance reviews.
  • Oversee payroll reconciliations and collaborate with Accounting on month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Monitor payroll service delivery metrics, identify operational risks, and implement solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure payroll providers meet service, compliance, and performance expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, standardization, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex payroll matters and ensure timely resolution of payroll-related issues.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support acquisitions, organizational changes, system implementations, and other strategic business initiatives impacting payroll.
  • Maintain documentation, governance practices, and control frameworks supporting payroll operations and regulatory compliance.
