Workplace: Rotkreuz, Switzerland until 31 December 2027; Basel, Switzerland as of 01 January 2028. This position is offered on a temporary 24-month contract.
Sandoz continues to go through an exciting and transformative period as a global leader and pioneering provider of sustainable Biosimilar and Generic medicines. As we continue down this new and ambitious path, unique opportunities will present themselves, both professionally and personally. Join us, the future is ours to shape!
The Project Manager Supply Chain Transition is responsible for the end-to-end coordination and execution of all Supply Chain activities related to the office move from Rotkreuz to Basel and the resulting legal address change on product packaging. The role develops and executes the Supply Chain transition strategy for products impacted by the packaging change (address change on the outer box). The primary focus is to ensure a compliant and controlled transition from products carrying the current artwork to products carrying the updated artwork.
The Project Manager is responsible for inventory transition planning, depletion strategies for products with current artwork, implementation sequencing, warehouse readiness, relabeling activities and supply continuity. This includes managing the coexistence of products with current and new artwork, preventing non-compliant inventory and minimizing excess stock and supply risks. Acting as the central Supply Chain coordination point, the role drives alignment and decision-making across the Swiss organization and external partners, including Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Commercial, Finance, Manufacturing Sites and Logistics Providers. The role manages dependencies, governance processes, stakeholder communication, risk reviews, effective issue resolution, proactive risk escalation and executive reporting to ensure successful project execution.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Develop SKU-specific inventory transition and depletion strategies for products affected by the legal address change.
- Monitor regulatory implementation timelines and ensure inventory levels support compliance with Swissmedic deadlines.
- Manage the coexistence of products with old and new artwork and define mitigation actions for at-risk inventory.
- Coordinate stock build-up, inventory reductions/depletions and phase-in/phase-out activities to ensure uninterrupted supply during the transition.
- Identify products at risk of becoming non-compliant after Swissmedic deadlines and develop action plans to avoid write-offs and destruction of inventory.
- Coordinate relabelling activities with 3PL where required.
- Lead cross-functional stakeholder alignment across Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Commercial, Finance and external partners, ensuring timely decisions, issue resolution and execution of all transition activities.
- Prepare management reporting on compliance readiness, inventory risk, write-off exposure and supply continuity.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Essential and Desirable Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in project management, supply chain, logistics, operations or related functions, preferably within a complex and cross-functional environment.
- Broad understanding of end-to-end supply chain, inventory planning, product lifecycle management, warehousing and distribution.
- Experience in a GxP-regulated pharmaceutical or healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management, governance, risk management and problem-solving capabilities, with the confidence to drive decisions in a matrix organization.
- Ability to translate complex portfolio and operational data into clear priorities, management updates and executable action plans.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with SAP, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- High degree of ownership, resilience, attention to detail and customer focus.
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
