About Apex Service Partners:
Apex Service Partners is a national leader in residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services, with 14,000 teammates across more than 225 locations in 46 states and over $3.5 billion in annual revenue.
With backing from Alpine Investors and a strategic minority investment commitment from Apollo-managed funds, we combine substantial financial resources, national expertise, and growth opportunities with the local leadership and trusted brands that make our businesses successful.
Our mission is to elevate the trades by investing in people and serving the operators who lead them.
Whether leading a local business or supporting our partners on the national team, we share one purpose: give our teams the tools, talent, and support to build exceptional businesses, create meaningful careers, and deliver outstanding service to their communities.
Mission of the Role:
Apex Service Partners is seeking a talented and highly motivated CRM & Email Marketing Specialist to join our marketing team.
As part of the CRM team, this role will execute and optimize customer communications across email, SMS, marketing automation, and lifecycle marketing programs. The CRM & Email Marketing Specialist will independently manage campaign production, audience targeting, quality assurance, deployment, testing, and performance analysis within Apex’s Customer Data Platform (CDP).
The CRM team supports customer communications across a growing portfolio of home-service brands, combining locally relevant marketing with scalable lifecycle programs, customer data, automation, and cross-channel engagement. This role offers hands-on experience across high-volume campaign execution, automated customer journeys, customer segmentation, testing, and the continued development of Apex’s CRM program.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this position will consist of:
- Independently build, QA, schedule, and deploy email and SMS campaigns, including local, national, recurring, triggered, and lifecycle communications.
- Build and validate campaign audiences using customer and business data, including segmentation, audience targeting, eligibility criteria, personalization, and suppression logic within the CDP.
- Implement and optimize lifecycle marketing programs and automated customer journeys, including prospecting, nurturing, cross-sell, win-back, retention, post-service, transactional communications, and other triggered campaigns.
- Translate campaign briefs, business priorities, and local market needs into effective CRM execution, partnering with regional and market marketing teams, Creative, and other internal stakeholders.
- Manage the readiness and execution of assigned campaigns within the broader CRM marketing calendar, proactively identifying dependencies, risks, conflicts, or missing information.
- Coordinate campaign assets and requirements, including copy, creative, offers, audience criteria, personalization, approvals, testing, and deployment.
- Perform comprehensive campaign QA and email render testing across devices and email clients, validating content, links, personalization, dynamic content, audience logic, templates, and deployment settings.
- Execute new-brand CRM activation and expansion into existing email, SMS, lifecycle, and automated marketing programs as Apex adds businesses and capabilities.
- Execute A/B tests across messaging, offers, audiences, timing, and other campaign variables; document results and apply learnings to future campaigns.
- Monitor CRM campaign analytics and reporting, identify meaningful performance trends, and recommend improvements to targeting, timing, messaging, offers, or campaign execution.
- Troubleshoot campaign, template, audience, data, and deployment issues in partnership with CRM leadership and appropriate internal or external teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve templates, processes, documentation, workflows, and automation to improve campaign quality and reduce unnecessary manual effort.
- Maintain current knowledge of email marketing, SMS, lifecycle marketing, marketing automation, CRM, and CDP best practices while protecting customer experience, brand standards, data quality, and campaign governance.
- Support additional CRM and lifecycle marketing initiatives as needed.
Role Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage email, SMS, or CRM campaigns from brief through audience development, QA, scheduling, deployment, and performance review.
- Hands-on experience with marketing automation, email marketing, CRM, ESP, or CDP platforms. Experience with Blueshift is preferred; experience with platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Klaviyo, or similar tools is also relevant.
- Experience with customer segmentation, audience targeting, suppression logic, personalization, or customer journey development.
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email, including the ability to modify templates and troubleshoot common email rendering issues.
- Strong project and campaign management skills with exceptional attention to detail and a disciplined approach to QA.
- Ability to understand different customer audiences and translate business objectives into relevant customer communications.
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot campaign, audience, template, or platform issues.
- Ability to interpret email, SMS, and CRM campaign analytics and reporting and translate results into actionable recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively across CRM, Creative, regional and market marketing teams, analytics, operations, and other business partners.
- Strong commitment to maintaining the integrity, voice, and customer experience of Apex’s portfolio of brands throughout the campaign development process.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in CRM, email marketing, lifecycle marketing, marketing automation, or digital campaign management.
- Hands-on experience working within an ESP, marketing automation platform, or Customer Data Platform (CDP).
- Solid understanding of CRM principles, customer journeys, customer lifecycle marketing, segmentation, and triggered communications.
- Experience with A/B testing, campaign optimization, and performance analysis preferred.
- Experience with SMS marketing best practices preferred.
- Understanding of dynamic templating, personalization, and dynamic content is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of email deliverability, list hygiene, consent, opt-out, and suppression best practices is beneficial.
- Experience with ServiceTitan or marketing within a multi-location, franchise, home-services, or similarly distributed business model is beneficial but not required.
Personal Characteristics:
- Takes ownership of work and follows through on commitments.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Curious and motivated to understand how customer behavior, business needs, data, and technology come together within CRM.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with multiple campaigns and competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communicator who works effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.
- Collaborative and able to build productive relationships across teams.
- Uses sound judgment and understands when to independently resolve an issue versus escalate it.
- Resourceful and proactive in identifying solutions and opportunities for improvement.
- Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous learning and development.
- Demonstrates strong integrity, professionalism, and respect for others.
