Senior Manager – Strategic Projects, Digital & Operational Excellence

The Opportunity
Avis Budget Group is seeking a commercially astute and experienced Senior Manager to lead strategic projects, digital transformation and operational excellence across its international franchise network.
This high-impact role combines strategic programme delivery with hands-on operational support, stakeholder leadership and capability development. You will drive scalable solutions, strengthen brand consistency and improve business performance across more than 150 markets, working collaboratively with IT, digital, commercial and operational teams, as well as international licensee partners.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Projects & Digital Transformation
- Lead strategic IT, digital and operational improvement programmes across international markets, ensuring alignment with business priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Drive projects from concept through to implementation, managing governance, risks, resources and stakeholder expectations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency and accelerate technology adoption.
- Provide day-to-day technical IT and operational support to help maintain effective business operations.
Franchise Operations & Brand Standards
- Support field teams in onboarding new licensees to the Avis Budget Group technology landscape.
- Define and maintain the brand standards framework and Operations (OPS) Manual, driving consistent adoption across licensee markets.
- Support the implementation of operational frameworks and best practices, balancing global consistency with local market requirements.
- Collaborate with international teams to strengthen franchise performance and operational excellence.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Build strong relationships across IT, digital, commercial and operational functions, as well as international licensee partners.
- Influence and coordinate cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes without direct line authority.
- Communicate priorities, progress and results effectively, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

You are a proactive and commercially minded transformation leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to delivery. You are confident navigating complex international environments, influencing stakeholders and translating business priorities into practical, sustainable improvements.
Essential Experience & Capabilities
- Proven experience delivering strategic projects, programmes or transformation initiatives in a multinational or multi-market environment.
- Strong understanding of digital transformation, operational excellence and project governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, including the ability to lead through influence rather than direct authority.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities.
- Strong commercial awareness, analytical skills and a focus on measurable business outcomes.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of car rental operations, franchise business models or international mobility markets.
- Experience with brand standards, operational frameworks and licensee onboarding.
- Familiarity with technology adoption across geographically dispersed teams.
