 Account Manager – Debt Recovery

Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire
Salary: £26,000–£27,000 per annum plus bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (35 hours per week)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are recruiting an Account Manager to join a busy debt recovery team based in Hatfield. You will be responsible for managing customer accounts, recovering outstanding payments and negotiating repayment arrangements in a professional and compliant manner.

 

What You'll Do

• Make inbound and outbound calls to customers regarding overdue payments.

• Negotiate repayment plans and resolve outstanding balances.

• Handle customer queries, disputes and complaints.

• Identify vulnerable customers and ensure they receive appropriate support.

• Maintain accurate customer records and update account information.

• Work towards individual and team collection targets.

 

What We're Looking For

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Previous experience in debt recovery, credit control or collections is desirable.

• Confident telephone manner and ability to handle challenging conversations.

• Good IT skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook.

• Strong attention to detail and a target-driven approach.

 

Who Might Suit This Role

This role would suit someone with experience as an Account Manager, Debt Recovery Agent, Collections Advisor, Credit Controller or Customer Service Advisor. Call centre and financial services experience would also be beneficial.
