We are seeking a Sr. Lead, SW Full Stack Engg to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise mobile applications across iOS and Android. This role requires strong hands-on mobile engineering expertise, technical leadership, and the ability to collaborate across mobile, web, backend, cloud, and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and maintenance of native mobile applications for iOS and Android.
- Provide technical direction to developers, review designs and code, and promote engineering best practices.
- Build secure, scalable, and high-performing mobile features using Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Java.
- Partner with product, UX, QA, backend, web, cloud, and release teams to deliver end-to-end mobile capabilities.
- Integrate mobile applications with APIs, authentication services, analytics, feature flags, push notifications, and third-party SDKs.
- Collaborate with React web application teams to align user experience, feature behavior, and API usage across channels.
- Work with backend teams to understand APIs, microservices, cloud deployments, and PCF/Cloud Foundry dependencies.
- Drive CI/CD, release readiness, troubleshooting, performance tuning, observability, security remediation, and production support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including strong hands-on native mobile development for iOS and Android.
- Advanced experience with iOS technologies such as Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Xcode, iOS SDK, and mobile dependency management.
- Advanced experience with Android technologies such as Kotlin or Java, Android SDK, Android Studio, Jetpack, and Gradle.
- Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, driving code quality, and supporting enterprise release processes.
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns, secure development practices, accessibility, performance, and automated testing.
- Working knowledge of React-based web applications and how web features, routing, state management, and API integrations align with mobile experiences.
- Familiarity with backend services, REST APIs, microservices, Java/Spring Boot services, cloud deployments, and PCF/Cloud Foundry environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, build automation, environment configuration, monitoring, and production support.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in regulated, financial services, or high-security enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, observability tools, mobile SDK integrations, and release governance.
- Experience leading platform modernization, mobile architecture improvements, security remediation, or cloud migration initiatives.
Salary Range:
$114,500 - 194,700 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
