Description
Growth Marketing Manager, B2C
Department: Marketing
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: UK
Description
We are Digital Science and we are advancing the research ecosystem.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage our performance marketing agency (Cream), setting strategy and holding them accountable for output across Google Search, PMax, Meta and programmatic reviewing plans, challenging targeting and creative, and owning the commercial outcome of the relationship.
- Directly run and optimise our affiliate and referral programmes, from partner recruitment and commission structuring through to performance tracking and payout, treating them as core, cost-efficient acquisition channels rather than a side project.
- Build and manage influencer partnerships as a growth channel, identifying and negotiating with partners, tracking performance, and iterating based on ROI.
- Own acquisition targets across Overleaf and Readcube, managing budget allocation across agency-led and owned channels to hit CAC and revenue goals.
- Obsess over CAC:LTV - model it by channel and cohort, use it to guide investment decisions, and hold every programme (agency-run or in-house) to that standard.
- Partner closely with our senior growth and commercial analyst to ensure robust tracking, attribution and spend reconciliation across all channels; you're accountable for the numbers being right, not just for hitting them.
- Run structured testing; creative, audience, offer, channel mix and use the results to reallocate budget quickly.
- Report on performance to commercial and marketing leadership, connecting channel-level metrics to pipeline and revenue impact.
- Use AI tools to support campaign optimisation, creative testing, audience analysis and reporting
What you’ll bring to the role
- Proven experience running performance marketing across Google Search, PMax, Meta and programmatic, ideally with direct experience managing an external agency.
- Hands-on experience building and running affiliate and/or referral programmes, you've set up the mechanics yourself, not just briefed someone else to.
- Experience with influencer marketing as a measurable acquisition channel, not just brand awareness.
- A deeply commercial, numbers-first mindset, fluent in CAC, LTV, payback period, and comfortable being held accountable to them.
- Strong grip on attribution, tracking and analytics; experience working closely with a data/analytics partner to validate spend and results.
- Track record of managing meaningful budgets end-to-end, from allocation through to ROI reporting.
- Experience in subscription, SaaS or D2C businesses is valued; familiarity with academic, research or productivity tools is a plus.
- Comfortable operating without a large team, this role blends strategic ownership with direct execution.
Don't worry if you don't meet every qualification—let us be the judge! Studies show that many qualified candidates from under-represented groups hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement. We are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive team and strongly encourage you to submit your application.
