Iluka Resources is a leading global producer of critical minerals, zircon and high-grade titanium dioxide feedstocks. In partnership with the Australian Government, Iluka is developing Australia’s first fully integrated rare earths refinery at Eneabba in Western Australia’s Mid West.
The refinery will produce both light and heavy separated rare earth oxides, supporting diversified global supply chains for minerals essential to defence, renewable energy, electric vehicles, robotics and advanced technologies.
About the role
We are looking for a Purchasing Officer to join our team. Based in Perth and supporting our Eneabba Rare Earths Refinery, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services that support safe, reliable and efficient operations.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and site-based teams, you will manage purchasing activities, support procurement processes and help ensure compliance with company policies and procurement standards.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a nationally significant project while building strong relationships across operations, maintenance, commercial and supply chain teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement of stock, materials and services to support refinery operations
- Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in a timely and efficient manner
- Source quotations and engage with suppliers to deliver value and service outcomes
- Support supplier relationships and resolve procurement-related issues
- Expedite material orders to ensure on time delivery of critical parts
- Resolve blocked invoice discrepancies and purchasing administration activities
- Provide SAP and procurement process support to internal stakeholders
- Support category management initiatives and national procurement objectives
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes
- Promote a strong safety culture and support site safety objectives
About you
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or related commercial activities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially minded with sound problem-solving ability
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience working with SAP Purchase to Pay processes or a similar ERP system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- A proactive approach to customer service and continuous improvement
- Certificate or qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain or related discipline (desirable)
- Exposure to mining, manufacturing, processing or heavy industry environments (desirable)
