Job Overview
The Compliance Specialist administers Enterprise Transportation Compliance and Non-Manufacturing Safety programs by managing day-to-day compliance activities, maintaining regulatory and program documentation, analyzing safety performance, and coordinating enterprise-wide safety initiatives. This role serves as a subject matter resource and critical partner to Transportation Safety Managers and operational leaders, helping ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and workplace safety standards across transportation, warehouse, office, field, and other non-manufacturing environments.
This position applies working knowledge of transportation safety, workplace safety, compliance auditing, risk management, incident management, and safety program administration to independently manage assigned compliance activities and recommend improvements.
Highlights of your role
- Partner with Enterprise Transportation Safety Managers and Safety Leaders to coordinate safety-related activities.
- Administer assigned elements of enterprise non-manufacturing safety programs, including offices, warehouse, field service, OTR drivers, and other operational environments.
- Conduct workplace safety inspections, audits, investigations, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Administer safety initiatives focused on reducing risk and improving employee safety performance.
- Monitor compliance with internal safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Manage corrective-action tracking, inspections, and follow-up activities; identify compliance gaps, analyze trends, and recommend actions to safety managers and respective leadership.
- Develop and maintain recurring reports, safety analyses, compliance scorecards, and dashboards for leadership review.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, compliance, incidents, and training; identify trends and areas requiring follow-up.
- Serve as a resource for compliance-related inquiries and provide guidance on established safety programs and procedures.
- Coordinate the implementation of new safety initiatives and compliance processes, including documentation, communication, and follow-up.
- Represent assigned compliance programs on enterprise safety committees and contribute to projects and continuous improvement efforts.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
- 3+ years of experience in safety, compliance, transportation operations, or related operational safety support.
- Bachelor’s degree in transportation, safety, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional certifications such as ASP, OHST, CHST, TSP or willingness to pursue certification preferred.
- Willing to travel up to 25%

- Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and workplace safety requirements, with the ability to interpret and apply established requirements.
- Experience conducting compliance audits and managing corrective action processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience administering safety or compliance programs across multiple operational environments.
- Experience with safety management systems, learning management systems, and compliance tracking tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to identify trends, assess risk, and recommend practical solutions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
