Civil Engineering Technologist / Engineer
A well‑established consulting engineering firm is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Technologist / Civil Engineer to strengthen its design office in Cape Town. This permanent role offers the opportunity to work on large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects across the municipal and built environment sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high‑quality technical solutions, contributing across design, documentation, contract administration, and construction monitoring while engaging closely with clients and project stakeholders. Responsibilities
• Design of civil services for municipal, commercial and industrial developments, including preparation of relevant documentation, and contract administration/monitoring
• Produce technical deliverables for the design and implementation of roads, stormwater services, sewer services, water services, ducting services and bulk earthworks
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and technical project specifications in line with the relevant SANS codes
• Conducting site inspections and leading site meetings
• Prepare as-built drawings and close-out reports
• Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to problems/challenges
• Interaction with Clients Requirements
• B. Eng or B. Tech in Civil Engineering (Non-negotiable)
• Must be registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist (or eligible to register within the next 12 months)
• Minimum 5-10 years with specific Municipal Infrastructure Design and Building Environment experience a pre-requisite
• Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects
• Competent with Civil Designer and AutoCAD
• Good communication and people skills
