Identifying risks early, assessing them rigorously, and supporting key business decisions: that is exactly what Corporate Risk Management at Covestro is all about.

In this role, you will actively shape our global risk management framework, ensure compliance with legal and internal requirements, and continuously develop existing processes and concepts. You will work closely with international business units and senior management.

In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we offer a competitive annual base salary ranging from €89.400 to €108,500 for this full-time position, plus variable compensation. Your actual starting salary will be based on your qualifications and experience.

What to expect: Your responsibilities

• Independent coordination of global risk management activities and ensuring compliance with legal and internal requirements

• Managing and facilitating cross-functional processes for the identification, assessment, and mitigation of business risks and opportunities

• Further development and quality assurance of the risk management system, support of external audits, and implementation of improvement measures

• Optimization of existing risk management concepts, reporting structures, and IT-supported processes

• Implementation of AI-driven solutions to advance and automate risk management processes

• Leading global risk management projects and coordinating interdisciplinary collaboration

• Organizing and facilitating international committees and preparing consolidated risk and opportunity assessments for senior management

• Active engagement with external professional networks and integration of new developments and best practices into the company-wide risk management framework

 

What you bring:

• Successfully completed Master's degree, preferably in Business Administration or a comparable field, or an equivalent qualification

• Several years of experience in risk management, controlling, accounting, auditing, or consulting, ideally in an international corporate environment

• Sound knowledge of established risk management methodologies and relevant regulatory requirements

• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to structure and communicate complex topics clearly

• Proficiency in modern IT systems and advanced Excel functions and add-ins

• Openness to new technologies and ideally initial experience with AI-powered tools for optimizing and advancing risk management processes

• Confident stakeholder management across different management levels, strong presentation and facilitation skills, as well as diplomatic sensitivity and assertiveness

• Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken
