But our focus never changes: improve the lives of all Coloradans through innovation and collaboration. We're building one of the nation's leading government IT organizations by reimagining how we support agencies, building first-of-their-kind applications, and creating an inclusive, collaborative culture, together. Join us in the important work of providing equitable access to services.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please review your application to ensure completion. For the most equitable applicant experience, OIT’s hiring team considers only the contents of your application to review your qualifications. Please do not include any attachments (such as resume or cover letter) with your application as these items are not used by OIT’s hiring team.

Join the Colorado Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT) and play a pivotal role in public service. As the Manager of Enterprise Applications, you will lead a dedicated Salesforce development team, acting as the primary point of contact for application development services. This role demands a balance of strategic vision and tactical execution, requiring you to supervise staff while overseeing the full lifecycle of application service design, development, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Salesforce Application Development team in delivering high-impact, scalable technical solutions. Serve as the primary point of accountability for operational stability, service desk excellence, and customer service satisfaction across the portfolio.

  • Drive the design, planning, and delivery of application features by strictly adhering to OIT architectural standards and industry-leading best practices. Ensure all project outcomes are robust, secure, and fully compliant with organizational governance policies.

  • Provide direct supervision for staff, fostering a high-performance environment rooted in accountability and empowerment. Lead the daily operations, team coordination, and professional growth of direct reports.

  • Execute annual performance management cycles, including the development of metrics-based staff plans and the completion of bi-annual performance reviews. Proactively mentor staff to align individual career growth with departmental and organizational objectives.

  • Oversee fiscal responsibilities by identifying and presenting data-driven recommendations for upcoming budget needs, ensuring alignment with department business objectives and optimizing resource allocation within financial constraints.

  • Actively engage in improving leadership skills, attitudes, and knowledge, especially as related to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Attend training, development, and group training on topics of inclusive leadership.

To be successful in this role, you must be a forward-thinking leader who thrives on both strategic vision and hands-on tactical operation. We are looking for a candidate who brings a systematic, goal-oriented approach to problem-solving and decision-making, ensuring that every challenge is met with a clear, deliberate solution. You should possess the influence to work effectively across functional boundaries, building alignment and driving performance even outside your direct sphere of control.

Above all, you must embody an innovative mindset—someone who proactively challenges the status quo to identify better processes and demonstrate strong change management skills by successfully guiding individuals and teams through transitions toward a desired future state.

  • Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications. There is no substitution for any required management experience.

  • Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.

  • If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Agile and other development frameworks, with a strong ability to assess the suitability of these methodologies for specific project environments and application types.

  • Proven track record in a hands-on capacity, driving complex application development projects to successful completion while effectively monitoring team progress and ensuring milestone adherence.

  • Skilled in collaborating with peer organizations to align IT processes (e.g., SDLC, Governance) and tool strategies with departmental needs, driving greater operational efficiencies and high-quality deliverables.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of metrics and KPIs related to application quality and team work-effort (time management), with an ability to apply these insights to improve product outcomes.

  • Minimum of three years of professional experience designing, developing, and managing solutions within the Salesforce ecosystem.

  • Salesforce Administrator Certification.

Conditions of Employment:
