Job Description:
About US
For decades, Altera has been at the forefront of programmable logic technology. Our commitment to innovation has empowered countless customers to create groundbreaking solutions that have transformed industries across data center, communications, industrial, automotive, and aerospace/defense. Join us in our journey to becoming the #1 FPGA company! As we build the technology backbone for that next chapter, we're moving fast, thinking AI-first, and building for the long term
Job Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on Sr. Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Revenue Cloud, and Agentforce, with deep ownership of the Lead-to-Quote process. This is a builder role: you will provide both strategic architectural leadership and hands-on technical guidance, building scalable solutions using a mix of Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Revenue Cloud, CPQ) and custom AI agents (Agentforce and Claude) to enhance quoting accuracy, accelerate deal approvals, and ensure compliance.
You'll bring an AI-first mindset, leveraging AI and Agentic AI technologies alongside modern engineering practices — including hands-on use of Cursor for AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery and elevate solution quality across the team, while actively participating in technical reviews and complex problem-solving aligned to enterprise standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Own end-to-end architecture and delivery of scalable Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Revenue Cloud / CPQ — spanning the full Lead-to-Quote lifecycle — through architectural designs, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts, demonstrating solution functionality to business stakeholders.
Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, well-architected technical designs — data model, automation, integration patterns, and UX — that scale across the organization.
Design and build custom Agentforce agents as well as custom agents built directly on Claude.
Lead discovery and requirements-gathering workshops to gather, define, and document current and future state business processes and functional requirements for Sales Cloud and Revenue Cloud — delivering compelling presentations, architectural blueprint documents, environment management plans, and development policies that influence project strategy and lead business stakeholders through solution design.
Use Cursor and other AI-assisted development tools as a standard part of the build process, and help raise the bar on engineering velocity and code quality across the team.
Define and coordinate SIT/UAT test plans for Lead-to-Quote and CPQ workflows; support enablement, admin guides, and training materials.
Ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX) and support downstream reporting and audit needs.
Collaborate with integration/middleware teams to define patterns connecting Salesforce with ERP and other downstream systems.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Deal Desk, Channel, IT) to prioritize and sequence the Salesforce roadmap.
Implement Design Registration workflows to support distributor/partner-led deal identification, approval, and protection — ensuring channel deals follow pre-defined approval paths and pricing rules.
The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.
$209.5K - $303.2K USD
We use artificial intelligence to screen, assess, or select applicants for the position. Applicants must be eligible for any required U.S. export authorizations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
10+ years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Technical Solution Architect with direct ownership of large-scale CRM, CPQ, and Revenue Cloud implementations.
Extensive experience with Salesforce CPQ and Revenue Cloud, including configuration of pricing rules, product bundles, subscription models, billing/invoicing structures, and revenue recognition.
Proven hands-on experience with Agentforce building, configuring, and deploying agents in a production Salesforce org.
Hands-on daily use of Cursor (or comparable AI-assisted IDE) for real development work"
Salesforce certifications (Administrator, CPQ Specialist, Revenue Cloud Consultant, or Agentforce credentials) highly desirable
Strong hands-on experience in Salesforce development and configuration, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, APIs, platform events, batch processing, and integrations
Ability to define system landscape, identify gaps between current and desired future state
Understanding of Salesforce architecture, ability to design scalable solutions utilizing industry best practices
Familiarity with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, OAuth)
Strong command of data modeling, master data management, and handling complex datasets within Salesforce and integrated systems.
Demonstrated experience managing Salesforce projects using Agile delivery methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and iterative delivery.
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills—capable of bridging the gap between technical teams and business leaders.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proven track record of implementing innovative technology solutions that drive business value.
