Position Summary
The Product and Technology Lead is responsible for leading Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Process Validation, Cleaning Validation, Continued Process Verification (CPV), Package Validation and Technical Governance activities for products manufactured at the site. This role serves as the site's technical expert for product and process knowledge, ensuring products remain in a validated state of control and comply with all applicable regulatory, quality, and Haleon requirements.
The position collaborates closely with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Regional, and Global Technical organizations to drive product performance, process robustness, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Product Lifecycle Management & Technical Stewardship
- Manage the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities for products manufactured at the site. Accountable for oversight, governance, and delivery of all Validation Lifecycle activities, including: Process and Packaging Validation, Cleaning Validation, Continued Process Verification (CPV).
- Develop and maintain site validation strategies that support sustainable compliance and operational excellence. Ensure validation programs comply with Haleon standards, industry best practices, and market regulatory expectations.
- Serve as the technical owner and knowledge expert for product formulations, manufacturing processes, packaging processes, Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs), and Critical Process Parameters (CPPs).
- Maintain and periodically review Product Control Strategies (PCS) and Technical Risk Assessments (TRA).
- Lead or support technical assessments for product changes, investigations, and major deviations.
- Oversee technical investigations, deviations, and CAPA activities related to products and processes.
- Ensure investigations are scientifically robust, timely, and identify true root causes. Drive the effectiveness and sustainability of corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure appropriate technical controls and product control strategies are established and maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
- Implement and maintain CPV programs to ensure manufacturing processes remain in a validated state of control.
- Utilize statistical analysis, process monitoring, and data trending tools to proactively identify process risks and emerging trends. Establish performance monitoring systems to support continuous process improvement and product quality assurance.
- Maintain and share product and process knowledge across site, regional, and global technical networks.
- Provide technical leadership during inspection preparation, response development, and remediation activities.
Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Operations, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, and Global Technical teams.
- Interface with Regional and Global Technical organizations to align site strategies, share best practices, and implement global standards.
- Drive strategic technical initiatives that support future site capability, technology advancement, and business growth.
- Strengthen team capabilities in process understanding, validation science, investigation practices, and risk management.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and technical excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, nutritional, or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong expertise in solid dosage process validation, cleaning validation, CPV, process monitoring, and risk management.
- Thorough understanding of GMP requirements and global regulatory expectations.
- Experience supporting regulatory inspections and audit readiness activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
