Job Description/Responsibilities
The Quality & Food Safety Supervisor serves as the subject matter expert for Quality and Food Safety within Barton Brands of Kentucky, ensuring the highest standards of product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance. This role leads quality systems, develops team capabilities, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and partners with cross-functional teams to strengthen the facility’s quality culture and operational performance. What You'll Do
- Lead and develop the Quality team through coaching, mentoring, training, and performance development to build a strong quality culture and technical skill base.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Quality and Food Safety systems, including HACCP, ISO standards, audits, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Partner with Production, Operations, and cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, drive corrective actions, and improve quality performance across the facility.
- Lead internal and external audits, serve as the site liaison for third-party auditors and regulatory agencies, and ensure compliance with customer and food safety requirements.
- Oversee laboratory processes, standardize testing methods, reduce variability in results, and support continuous improvement of quality processes and systems.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
- Experience leading quality, food safety, or manufacturing operations in a production environment.
- Previous supervisory experience with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate team members.
- Strong communication, planning, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience leading change initiatives and proficiency with manufacturing systems and technology.
Preferred
- Food Safety Certification and experience with Global Food Safety standards.
- Experience with ISO and HACCP implementation or management.
- Experience working with internal and external auditors, along with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and the Alcohol Beverage, Food Manufacturing, or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.
